I have had mud flaps on almost all my vehicles, but the Raptor looks so good without them, I am hesitating getting some. I will rarely take it off road. There is plastic trim protecting the lower rear, and the running boards adds protection up front. But at about $150 for a full set of Weather Techs, it's not expensive protection. Do you all have them? Which ones? How do they look?
I ordered mud flap on my '26 RR. Will I also need paint protection film if I remove the running boards?

Obviously, it's your truck and you know your needs and taste best.

My RR came with the Ford Performance factory mudflaps. While part of me agrees with you regarding the aesthetic appeal of the truck without the mudflaps, over time they have really grown on me from a visual standpoint. More so than aesthetics, I really wanted an extra layer of protection to the areas of truck that are prone to rock chipping/dings and so I almost certainly would have purchased the FP mudflaps if they weren't included on my RR.

I don't think there is a bad choice here. Really, it's just about figuring out how you weigh and balance aesthetics vs. utility; I can easily appreciate the RR with or without the mudflaps.
I agree with you about the FP Mud flaps! However, the RR running boards are in the way for me, 6' tall, getting in and out. Scared to loose the rock protection, thinking about paint protection film. And thoughts, ideas?

I'm 6'1" and use the running boards all the time. I like lowering myself into my seat. Plus wifey uses them all the time too, she's short. Keeps her from sliding down the side of the seat.

I have a 2025 white RR. One pass over a wet dirt road spattered mud all over the sides. Installed WeatherTech Mud Flaps - reduced the mud splatter by 90%. Your Call! Good luck.

Yes, I would, and I did and didn't use enough after removing my boards on my 2024 model.
Largely why I have kept the boards on my 2025 models.

In this pic you can see the paint chips up above where I stopped with the PPF thinking I was plenty safe. LOL

I replaced the factory boards on my Lariat with AMP Research. I had Xpel PPF put on

from the gap between the cab and bed straight across to the gas tank filler, then straight down. Both sides. No dings, no chips. $85 each side, installed.

I also don’t like the way they look, but I do wish I put them on earlier because of the rock chips I now have. I went with the FP kit. It’s super easy to install. If you enjoy drifting down a rocky road, or river bed, I would say they’re a must. I also don’t have the stickers, which would have minimized some chips.

Regardless of whether I've owned other brands over the years I have always bled blue oval and been a Ford guy, BUT, the paint Ford has on these things is absolute SHIT! It is unbelievably thin AF. Honestly, it's actually amazing how thin they are able to lay it on and still get coverage. I've seen primer coats that were thicker then the paint is on our RR. This stuff is so damn thin I think if you spit on it it'd chip the paint so PPF is highly recommended.

You'd think with all the trouble and issues Ford has had with their factory paint over the years, I had a 87 Bronco completely repainted under warranty and the Hood on a 2017 Explorer under a recall deal because the paint bubbled, you would think they would emphasize doing better when it came to painting their vehicles instead of focusing on painting them in the most cost saving way.

I went with these Kewwisauto flaps. I was told they look like Fords but blank where the FORD would be:

Haven't seen the FORD flaps so I don't know.

I ordered the Musolgy flaps first but returned them as they are not flat on the wheel side so they would collect mud and most likely get ripped off easier by debris hitting the lip:

I had Muslogy flaps on the truck....for about 2 weeks until I noticed three of the 4 of them were gone. I hit the Central Florida rainy season with very heavy rain and deep water standing on I-4; I'm pretty sure the flaps got ripped off due to deep water because of the fastners Muslogy uses - plastic punches with plastic screws. They simply are not secure when it comes to hitting deep standing water.
I replaced with WeatherTech mud flaps, better quality and much much better metal bolts/fastners. They haven't budged in a year when Iost the Muslogy's in a matter of weeks.

Terrible pictures because of the lighting, but I think i captured the look of the Ark mid guards on the Raptor decently. They look to sit about flush with the bottom of the running boards, and should provide just enough coverage to keep the truck cleaner without being full size guards. I have mine installed as far in as the slots allow, but you could adjust out easily for wider tires and offsets, or trim for a more tucked fit (something I'm considering).

Only negative I have: they have a flap in the front guards that can be slotted into the rear crash guards, but it's a little too wide and offsets the spacing just enough to make them not work as shipped. I just cut those off as I felt it'll only act as a funnel for crap to end up in the crash bars, but if you wanted to use them, you could easily trim 1/8" or so off the bottom of the flaps with a box cutter or rotozip.

Crash bar area. You can kind of see where it's a hair too wide and why I removed it.

Coming soon: chrome stripper silhouette appliqués. 😄 just kidding.

I took a chance on these, ebay mudflaps/fp reps, and they fit perfect. They look just like the factory ford performance ones, have no branding or logos on them and are cheap enough that if you hate them you can rip them back off and toss them out. Took me probably 20 minutes to install in the parking lot while my kid was in martial arts class.
