I just picked up my new 2026 Ranger XL. The truck came with a DIBL. On each side of the bedliner there is a rectangular shaped form. What is underneath the bed liner. Is there some kind of panel for accessories or something? See picture.

The reason I ask is that I traded in my 2023 Maverick which came with the DIBL. It had the same type of forms in the DIBL and underneath were panels you could convert to storage.

Certain trims of the Ranger come with a built in 120/400W AC power outlet in the bed. Those rectangular cut outs are where the outlets would be. The outlets are not standard on the XL unless you pay specifically to have them installed. If you desire some sort of power outlet, it is possible to wire in a 12V outlet using existing wiring with a kit available for purchase from Ford.

Couple aftermarket panels out there as well. Search for "Ausmotion" for a couple threads on a compressor mount on the passenger side (compressor between the bed walls) - or their website directly.

Otherwise just the cubbies under the seats. Or pick up a swing-out box or go the molle panel route

Would love a molle panel using the 4 screw holes that secure that panel. Obviously longer screws and spacers. But as of yet can't find one with holes that line up.

Edit 1
And now that I've browsed Ausmotion's site it looks like they might make one.

Edit 2
Nevermind says not compatable with North American models :(

So, if anyone knows of any others let me know.

The reason I asked is that I had a Maverick and it came with the drop in bed liner. My friend's Maverick had the Spray In Bed Liner (SIBL). The maverick has two panels on the back side that you can buy containers that insert into the cubby holes or for power. If you have the drop in bed liner the only way to use them would be to cut out the drop in bed liner. Maverick owners were concerned about cutting the drop in bed liner and not have a good seal, getting leaks, etc.

What you are referring to is the bed cubby which is exclusive to the Maverick's flex bed system. This video describes it in detail. As far as I am aware, no trim level of the Ranger offers this. Could you cut through the DIBL and cut into the bed and make your own cubby? Maybe. But the area you circled in your first post is explicitly designed for the power outlets. Again, someone crafty could probably fashion it to be for something else - but as far as I am aware there is no official Ford part which can be purchased to cut out that area and install storage instead of power.
