Trying to understand if this is a normal part of the design or a mistake in my vehicle: Between the lid of the center console and the driver’s seat bolster there’s a standard looking gap, something you can slide your fingers between. The passenger seat bolster though is pressed hard against the side of the center console lid. Is it uneven like this for others?

What model of Ranger? My RR looks even on both sides.

I am glad someone mentioned this. Our RR has the same issue.

I was wondering about it and planned to look at a couple at the dealer to see how normal it was. I haven't determined if it's the seat or the console that is causing this.

My seats are evenly spaced from the center console until the drivers seat goes all the way back in the "easy exit" position after shutting off and opening the door. After that, the drivers seat has a larger space between the console than the passenger seat. Normal behavior because of the seat shape.

my 2024 lariat has the same design. If I remember correctly, there is a rub plate also attached on the passenger side.
