Hello, do you recommend changing the transmission oil pan on a Ranger Raptor? I've seen several brands on eBay, but any are worthwhile for this change?

I plan to switch to an aluminum one with a drain plug at some point. Seems like it would be a personal choice to me. I personally don't think there is an issue with the stock one aside from no way to conveniently drain the fluid. and some people don't like the plastic.

Totally understand if you want to swap the oil pan out. If you only looking for ease of draining the oil perhaps a different plug might be useful? I put the UPR drain plug on. You can put a hose on when draining to control the oil.

Suncoast sells an aluminum stock capacity transmission pan and Mishimoto sells an aluminum transmission pan that holds 2 more quarts of trans fluid. Both of them have a drain plug on the bottom.

Are they worth it? I guess it depends on the person.

Composite parts have come a long way over the years, but they still aren't viewed very positively by a lot of enthusiasts.

Would I do it? More than likely, yes I would and I'd go for the increased capacity.

I have a hard time leaving things stock, so by going that route I'd be some-what future proofed for the Suncoast upgrade/rebuild kit the tranny will eventually get.

I've been thinking of installing the extra capacity pan in the future. I plan to add some weight with overlanding gear as I build the truck out over time. A little extra fluid should help keep things a bit cooler and provide just a bit of additional insurance when we're off roading in the middle of nowhere.

de 2 cuartos de galón de capacidad. Comparado con otras cartas, este era más económico:

I purchased a B&M 10R80/10R60 Hi-TEK Deep Heavy Duty Transmission Pan from American Truck. It's a deep pan that adds 2 quarts of capacity. Compared to other pans this pan was less expensive at $279.

How much of a pain was it to swap that?

I was thinking of installing it instead of a box oil cooler, although the plastic sump doesn't give me any confidence... that's why I want to upgrade to improve and put in good oil... considering I have stage 2

I have a 2025 Ranger Lariat with 2.7l EB. For me it was an easy swap (~2 hours). There is literally nothing in the way. I've done a few of this in the past. Two 5G 4Runners, Chevy Suburban and a Ford Expedition. I refilled with Amsoil ULV trans fluid. A few folks on the forum said that they purchased an aftermarket trans pan and took it to the dealer to be installed - I think they said the dealer charged ~$200.

Nice! I think the raptor might have an exhaust pipe in the way which generally boils down to a mess with the fluid unless you pump it out through the fill port. I'd probably take it to the dealer just to prevent the mess in my garage!
