PSA: Bed rail caps on '26 are thinner than '25... Tonneau covers will NOT fit

Removing the second right side cap caused a single clip to shear off but was able to massage the rest back into a semblance of shape to refit. Had to scribe the nut boss locations, 9 per side. Thanks to AAL for the hardware to get this done

FWIW I have a raptor coming in this week and ordered the ford hard rolling tonneau cover. Ordered it on 3-10 and it was supposed to be in by the 15th, since it’s still not here I checked with parts. They contacted their supplier and were told it still isn’t ready not sure how soon. So they have to redesign the one they are currently selling online. Which is clamp style. Since it wasn’t my first choice I cancelled the order.

Throwing on the front face cap would have been a really thoughtful touch...I can say that many of the fixing clips in my25 assembly are totally unaccessible as designed and the cap is not fitted with access holes to reach the array of welded nuts integrated into the bed rail. What are the chances that such design considerations are shared publicly?

Said deformation is substantial from my experience and permanent in regards to the "ribbed" inner structure of cap as shared previously in photos

I think it will be better but it looks to me like even on the 2026 if you clamp it like was shown above this plastic will deform.

it is still supported by those very thin plastic fins in the middle.

I contacted Agri-cover about this issue and sent them a link to this thread. I plan to order a Lomax when my 2026 Ranger XLT arrives in April.

The Lomax (from Agri-Cover) has now been modified to work with the 2026 Ranger. I received mine today and the installation looks like it should go smoothly.
