I thought it would be nice to have one place to answer everyone's questions about the ordering process. This should clean up the forum a bit and avoid repeat questions. I don't have any association with Ford, or its dealers, so everything I've learned has been from these forums. Please feel free to correct me, or add any updates as they come.
@administrator, if there is a way to pin this thread to the top for a few months, that would be helpful.
What does my order number mean?
The order number is set by the dealer, not Ford. It doesn't have any real significance in the ordering process.
What are the priority codes my dealer sets?
The priority code is a way for the dealer to set its priority on the vehicle with Ford. The lower the number, the higher the priority is. The highest priority for a customer order was priority 10, but some have mentioned that it can now go lower than that.
How do I get my VIN?
Your VIN will be assigned once your truck has been scheduled to be built. If your truck has been scheduled, and you didn't receive a VIN, the best way to get it is by contacting Ford chat and giving them your order number and dealer. They should be able to find your VIN from there.
My order has entered "In Production" on the tracker a week early, does that mean it's getting built ahead of schedule?
No, this has typically meant that your build has been locked-in to be built the following week (most likely your previously set build week)
My order is "In Production", how do I find my window sticker?
Window stickers can be found using this web address and adding your VIN after the = at the end of the URL: https://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?vin=
What is "Blend Date"?
The Blend Date is the date your vehicle was built. This date should be listed at the top of your window sticker. The first number of the blend date can be ignored, then the following numbers are the year/month/day
My order has been "In Production" for a long time and I know it's built! Why hasn't the tracker updated to "Built"?
The tracker seems to leave it "In Production" until it's about ready to be shipped. Once you see the "Built" status, you should see it shipped within a few days after that. This entire process should speed up as Ford gets more of the Rangers out the door.
