Not a fan of the side-steps for multiple reasons;

1. I'm 6'3 so the step is at an awkward height to use. I step over it most of the time.
2. It's a faded black color and doesn't match other black on the vehicle
3. It's attached to the body not the frame, so it doesn't offer great protection

The only reason I haven't taken them off yet is because I'm not sure how to truck will look. Has anyone removed the side-steps yet? Any pictures?

Also, it doesn't appear we have any good frame attached options in the US currently. Do we know if there are any options in the works?

Thanks,

Power steps have long term maintenance issues in winter climates (ice buildup) and small stones can hang up in the mechanisms at any time. So don’t expect them to be trouble free, at the very least add mudflaps with good coverage and clean and lube the pivots “as needed”...

OTH, if I could live with those limitations, the Amp ones would be my first choice.

Power steps are nice, but remember when you remove the factory board from a Raptor you can get a lot of rock chips from the tires.

I did power steps on my Bronco, but the Ranger just does not seem tall enough to really need steps.
‘I did a black vinyl wrap and rocker protectors plus’s PPF the rear fenders and flairs, trying to protect from rock chips since I took my steps off.

Been looking at the steps but in my searches it has said "not compatible with Raptor". Can you provide link and/or part number that you used to purchase for your RR? Self installed or shop install? Thank you...

Call Trident Motorsports in Austin TX 512 918 2345

They installed mine. Those Trident wearing guys are innovative.

Be careful, a guy started a thread on here, took the originals off, put power ones on, now he has a Ranger Raptor loaded with stone chips.......

Thanks for the photos. I think it actually looks better so I'm definitely removing the side-step. I already have full frontal PPF, but I'm probably going to get some PPF installed on the lower section along the doors as well. Not sure how bad that would look. I have the OEM Ford mud flaps, but maybe I'll look at larger ones as well.

Thanks,

Will Raptor steps fit on a regular Ranger? Just curious. I removed my Raptor steps and I am trying to sell them but I didn't know if they would fit other Rangers.

I have a different problem with the running boards. The finish is real rough and hard to keep clean plus they grab my micro fiber duster. Has anyone painted them to completely change the finish?

Thanks,
I’m 6,3 as well. Don’t need a step and kept scraping my calf getting in and out of the truck. I took mine off. Getting custom rock rails made for it soon. Haven’t had any damage on the bed from rocks yet. I’m sure it will happen in the future.
