Trying to make this short. In all my years of owning Ford vehicles, I have never had this many recalls and updates. First recall for side airbag and trailer module update was a total nightmare Brought truck into dealership and that was the first mistake. Took all day from 8 am until they dropped it off after 6 pm. Black finger prints all over headliner and deep gouge in side pillar along with a gouge in the door panel drivers side. Took it in the next morning with photos and after getting the run around the General Manager agreed it was there fault. Three weeks later the parts finally showed up and we're installed. Only saving grace for them was they got me a rental car for the three days it took to fix the job along with a complete ceramic coat inside and outside detail. Then they called and wanted to do another recall and update. No thanks, I took it to another dealership about forty miles away. Tie will tell if that dealership is reliable and a little more cautious with my truck. Needless to say my wife is done with Fords. She was looking at the Broncos and the Explorers but after all this nope. Sorry for the long rant

There was also another update I had right after the trailer update for the window reprogramming. The truck was just at the dealer 3 weeks ago for a recall and now I have seen there is one for the A pillar wiring to the visor then then ANOTHER one possibly coming for bolts holding the seats in. 2026 has not been good.

My wife was also done with Ford's and we have a new SUV for the first time that isn't a Ford.

I am waiting for something to be done about gas pedal non-response that happens sporadically after stopping at a stop sign. I have read online that others have had the same problem. Someone is going to get killed trying to turn into traffic or onto a highway. I hope it is not me.

If you wait long enough all of the software-based recalls seem to have become available over-the-air so no dealer visit required.

I got burned with a 2021 Ranger when they had to drop the headliner to fix a piece attached to the roof: Put a hole in the fabric and then tried to fix it but made it far worse. There was a long discussion thread here of folks saying they would wait until techs get experience doing the airbag recall because so many early posters shared similar horror stories. Unclear to me if the outcomes have improved over time or not.

Eh, this sounds par for the course for any car manufacturer. Over the first 5 years I owned my Subaru, I had 5 recalls.

I consider recalls a good thing - bad manufacturers will try their best to NOT cover it, until it actually becomes a problem - and then you have to pay for it!

My recommendation is to just wait 6 months to a year for a recall repair. Then, if there are more found, you end up getting them all done at once.

We're they changing your oil while working on the recall? What's with all the black finger prints? Did they clean it up? For having service done at a dealership that's frustrating!!

Just finally had the airbag recall done on mine.

Ford service writer told me they have one specific technician that does this particular recall and he has done over 50 of them.

Ford driver is on his way now to bring it back to me

I’m going to go over it in great detail to make sure none of the above happen

My headliner one went smooth and they also diagnosed an issue where my truck wouldn’t communicate with the App. Needed a new battery I guess. The brake one came over the air. I have the trailer one but since i don’t tow anything I haven’t worried about it. My seats don’t seem to have issues. They are fixing it so I don’t see what the big deal is.

this is not a rant, it’s good information for the rest of us, sry for your troubles. I’ve had my ‘25 Lariat for just about a year now and love it…but I love me more. Not taking this Ranger into my retirement in 5 years with expensive repairs on the horizon. Time tells all.

Not directly related to this discussion, but can I ask you guys about Ford picking up and dropping off your car? I feel like I hear everyone saying their dealer does this!

Is it true? Do you pay extra? Is it part of Ford warranty or is it case by case for each dealer?

Most Ford dealers will come to your home and pick it up then return it when work is completed. Me personally I would rather take it there and get it myself, plus they always give me a loaner. My little dealer ( Dean Arbour Ford ) in Tawas Michigan is GREAT.

Can't speak for the pick-up/drop-off, but I have used the mobile service and it is part of what the dealership offers. No extra charge and super convenient. I would just recommend to be a little conscientious of the mobile service. Don't put the poor guy in inclement weather or adverse conditions (muddy driveway, dogs running everywhere, etc). I have them come to my work where there's a large garage, radio, and offer him as much water as he wants.

It is a dealer offered "perk". There are 2 dealerships near me within 10 min drive and 1 offers to pickup and drop off and the other does not.

The same dealership that does offer also has a courtesy driver who will take you to work or back home if you go to the dealership yourself and the repair is going to take all day. They also pick you up to take you to back to get your vehicle when it's done. I prefer this option vs. a stranger driving my truck because of the above mentioned problems after. I'd rather be at the garage to find them and show them immediately before I leave the lot.

The air bag recall was flawless on my XLT.
It's upsetting they will need to drop the headliner to do the wiring recall.
It would have been nice to do it all at once.

In two weeks my 24 is scheduled for recall work and service. It will take at least one day. Closest Ford dealer is 80 miles and they will supply a rental. I will reportt my experience.
