RR back from dealership still no steering icon on IPC and the steering button doesn’t work.. they do not know what to … now this….

So my truck has been to the dealership twice now first time the dealership mechanic apparently did not see the icon missing and the steering button not working .. in the report says everything works as it should . Went to pick up and seen no icon so I left it . Yesterday went to get cause the advisor said it was fixed . I had my doubts cause he called and seemed to think it was the steering button having no input causing the icon not to be on the IPC . I told them that I stopped before I dropped it off and checked forb DTC’s got a IPC , APIM & SCCM fault . Looked up some stuff and voiced my concern on what I have found online . I asked for the diagnostic read out module read out with the faults . Was told no and did not have any. The dealership called ford cause I was told they have not seen this before and ford told them to disconnect the battery and wait then connect . -also told them I already did that before bringing it . Told him to ask the mechanic if they checked the clock spring and actually went through the modules could not get a truthful answer . I get there and still not working and now my screen has a damn mustang on the center screen. Went back inside with this pic and said I do not have a mustang and this was no there before I dropped it off . Advisor at this point was really pissing me off asked to speak to the manger . That was pointless as well . Said it must of been A OTA it got while there . I have been waiting from another Delaer to redo my seat covers and have that scheduled for Monday . After that I’m going to take it back and give them another chance . This is the 3rd time and has been almost 3 weeks of bs . Contacting FORD Monday and asking for a extended warranty on them since this is not the first time or 2nd , 3rd with issues . I know this is a rant and I did not put it in paragraphs cause I’m so pissed off . Does anyone have a clue what is going on? Could really use some advice .

Yes it is and acting like that is normal .. pretty pissed off about it .. neither dealership wants to take responsibility or FORD . I take it there for warranty work . I have a guy that has been working on fords and doing custom 4x4s for 20 plus years for regular maintenance that I cannot do without a lift . They wanted 800$ to do the trans service drop pan and change filter . My guy didn’t for 385$ after tax and put my mishimosto aluminum pan on .. they can suck dick . Ford each time I have called has told me it is the dealership’s problem and I’m sure when I call about this they will say the same thing .

Havent a clue, but it sure seems as though someone loaded an incorrect version of Sync on your truck and it took despite not being a Mach-E. I assume all the Sync base software/hardware is the same or at least similar, but some features, like the steering button are supported by specific versions/variations of the software.

I went out to my truck and checked the sync software version. To get there go to Settings->General->About Sync.

What I see is:
Sync 4 Software Version: 25017_PRODUCT
Revision: 1586.

Be interesting to see what your truck is reporting. Perhaps someone knows the product codes and can tell if you have the wrong vehicle installed.

Definitely would not trust anything the dealer says at this point, including that they have actually talked with Ford. If you have an option to take it to a different Ford dealer, that's what I'd do next.

I definitely do not trust them already . I do not know for sure if the same dealership has the 3 chances to fix something or 30 days before I can try to do a Lemon or a buy back . You would think Ford would want to keep customers but pretty sure they could care less. I might just get a Gx 550 OT and be done with this BS ..

Can you hook up with forscan and check the build codes against the spreadsheet you can get from the ford website. It will be kind of a lot of monotonous because its just a lot of comparing codes but it will tell if the dealer changed something.

Than you can screen shot the differences and send it to ford with a formal complaint against the dealership.

Or maybe you could change everything back to what it should be and have your truck back to normal?

Whenever I see this it makes me worried about turning off my seatbelt chimes through forescan. I hope you get your issue resolved MMdeluxeslime.

Might have a reason why I have a Mach E on my center dash .. wrong sync it seems .. should I go back to the dealership or call FORD first on this ??
