Not a true statement sir. Heat soak still happens even with an intercooler. That’s the whole point of upgrading to a larger intercooler. The factory intercooler doesn’t do its job well enough which results in heat soak.
I have upgraded to the Wagner intercooler which is why I'm not worried

Received the S&B Cold air intake this morning and just finish the install. Instructions link that came with it are incorrect, But the S&B website has a really good video. Install took less than 2 hours.

Just finished installing the S&B intake on the Ranger Raptor. Very Easy to install. Need a cool day to do some testing with the draggy. I’m looking to hit a 12.9 1/4 mile with the Procal tune installed too.

Added to the engine Bay today with AFE charge pipes in red. It was harder than anticipated. It took 3 hours and all the band-aids I own. Basically done with the truck at this point. I have 1.5 inch Bora wheel spacers, FP tune, cobb intercooler, S&B Cold air intake, and lastly AFE charge pipes. That said if prices come down on a new front bumper that could be in the cards.

Looks sharp, nice job! I was thinking of swapping out for the Cobb IC. How hard was that? Do the stock charge pipes have to be swapped out or more for looks?

The cobb intercooler installation was probably the easiest of all the components. No other changes required.

Well, I finally get around to trying to install the intake. I get everything out of the truck and start putting the new one together, only to realize the coupler for the turbo connection was not included in my box. Now I gotta put everything back to stock. Very annoying.

No one installed this thing with the UPR catch can yet? I'm surprised. Waiting to hear how that went.

I have the single port upr catch can and it works just fine. I'm assuming you mean the double port that needs a hole cut in the intake.

I ordered the dual port catch can by mistake, so I converted it to a single by plugging the unneeded/unused port.

I've had zero issues and it works just fine.

I don't have the S&B intake and unsure which CAI I'm going with.

I was the one who posted on Facebook with the CEL after installing. I talked to S&B a week or so ago and confirmed with them it’s a real issue, but only on 2025’s. For 2025 there is a code that wasn’t monitored on 2024’s that checks the PCV flow.

So a TLDR of sorts:
  • Only effects 2025’s
  • Does not happen on 2025’s with the side panel installed. Will definitely happen on your 2025 with the side panel removed
  • Not an issue in any configuration with 2024 trucks
  • S&B are working on a fix, which is most likely a revised PCV plate to reduce the flow back to OEM levels to get around the code
  • With the side panel removed there is much more flow through the airbox, which in turn pulls much more from the PCV, making it think the hose is disconnected, causing a code.

That's good to know -- IMO, never understood why people would remove that side panel, air in the engine bay is warm.

BTW, this intake is supposed to show up tomorrow. Can't wait!
