That's good to know -- IMO, never understood why people would remove that side panel, air in the engine bay is warm.

BTW, this intake is supposed to show up tomorrow. Can't wait!
I'm running it with no side panel. It's an intercooled engine, not naturally aspirated, so not as susceptible to heat soak. Not going to argue this with anyone. Google is only a search away.

You aren’t really gaining anything with the panel on. I think it’s something like a 15% difference in flow and no extra noise. With the panel off it’s a 45% increase (if I remember the specs right) plus tons of turbo noise.

FWIW I have a Wagner intercooler, but with the panel off/on vs stock the delta in IAT vs outside temp was about the same in all situations and it’s been like 90-100 degrees here.
