The off-road screen button; now this brings up a concern....I might sound young and hip but we are long in the tooth/and have as is common in the elderly two yippy yap dogs. What happens when cruising down the interstate one of the miniature schnauzers hops onto the center armrest/slips a bit and steps on this button? I hope nothing. I've already found and ordered off ETSU a cover for the 'wheel'.

Thanks again for the information. I love the way you presented it to me=fun and suggestive and not derating at all.
Hmm dogs... I'm am old one myself. Pressing the off-road button just brings up the screen on the center display, you have to use the touch screen to alter any settings, so unless your pooches have extraordinary reach, you'll be fine.

Here's another tip about the off-road button. I use it all to time to aid parking in tight spaces as when you activate it (under around 10 MPH) the front camera and surround view comes on. You can configure the cameras for different views (see the manual) so if its not showing the stuff you want just play with the camera buttons on the screen until you find what you like. The truck remembers your last setting, so once set you can forget.

And thanks for the kind words. There's so much complexity/aggravation/anxiety/conflict in this world, why add to it? If we want to undo some of that, IMO its far better to offer a hand than an insult.

With the rear seat folded down my dogs would lay across my the center console and hit the 4hi engaging the 4x4 with her front paws. Made an inverted cup. No more accidental engagement. Then did a rear seat delete and built a 1/2 inch plywood platform ( search YouTube ranger seat delete for ideas on building your own).
Gave the dogs way more room and they are sitting/laying lower so no more accidental hitting the mode button.

I need that inverted cup! I'll study the rear seat delete but our two dogs together weigh in at 37 pounds so they've got plenty of room back there. I did fine something the storage room used in a past vehicle. I'll see how it plays out in the back seat. It's like a big bucket suspended from the back seat head rest and the front seat headrests. Keeps them off everything. It has a mesh panel between the front seat so they can see through.

I had that rear seat thing too. My problem was my dogs are getting older and it was getting harder for them to jump up into the truck. Thus rear seat delete.

Can't member where I got the cup . Will try and find it.

JP thanks. I'll wait until the Mrs. is away from the house and rummage through her drawer of plastic bowls/lids/etc. Might get lucky :)

You can pause a song on radio with mute button on steering wheel or with pause button while displaying radio stations on center screen. Unpause and pick the song up right where you left off. Works like the pause on a tv.

Could very well be. I have not tried to pause on FM. I found originally was listening to Siriusxm radio. I did not try AM or FM. Thanks for the update.

There is a way you can turn off the auto start stop without ForScan on RR. Push the Raptor button on the right side of the steering wheel. In the raptor drive mode you can set you preferences that will be saved every time you choose to drive in Raptor mode. To set up: press the R (for raptor) on right hand steering wheel. Then press the A button on the center console. It should say on the driver instrument cluster auto start stop deactivated. Now with the other buttons on the right hand side of the steering wheel you can set the other preferences you want. Push the steering wheel and choose an option . I have comfort. Push the Shock button for the ride you want. I have mine sporty. Push the exhaust button and choose the sound you want. The with the console dial you can choose the 2 or 4 wheel drive. I have 2 wheel. When you have done all that push and hold the Raptor button again for 3-5 seconds. If it all takes you will see a red R in the back of you truck on the drivers instrument on panel. Now your all set. Then every time you start the truck push the Raptor button 2X on the steering wheel & all your saved parameters will engage. If you ever want to change them just do the process all over. This is also explained on page 265 of the owners manual. Yes you will still have to push a button twice, but you get all the other choices automatically. I believe it’s a great trade off.

After installing a CVF intercooler on my 2.7 i felt like it needed some rock protection, so i got myself a grill guard. Looks clean!

Hello, Im thinking about getting the same one. Are you happy with the $600 upgrade? Did you add any of the extra stuff they offer ( hot cold kit or BOV)?

Did you notice anything after the intercooler install?

The intercooler works great. I mainly got it to keep my turbos cooler and last longer, since I live in texas, where is hot a f..k. I also got a turbosmart bov. Next I'm getting a CAI and then hot/ cold pipes. After that I'll be ready for a tune which will increase my power nicely.

Did my Redline hood shocks today and very happy with them Did not notice any flex but it does take even more effort to close the hood now. Wondering if there is any room to shim the latch slightly and still have it fit tight and rattle free?

Also put on the Muslogy console pad, not sure I really needed that but we'll see.

Also had a KARR BT Series alarm add on installed.

4D Tech Stop/Start bypass arrives tomorrow and Airplex hood guard is on it's way from Europe.

Sportwing color matched body side molding arrives Friday or Saturday.

$till got a ton of $tuff on my li$t.
