Is anyone still holding off on getting the Side Curtain Recall done for fear of the tech damaging the plastics and headliner? My dealer keeps contacting me to get it done but I'm not confident that it will be done neatly and without damage.
For those that have had it done how did it go?

I had an appointment and canceled it because some if the reviews here. I’m not worried about it. I’ll get it done someday if I even keep it. 🤔

Had my RR done and my XLT…. Both went fine with no issues. Took about 1 1/2 days for RR and almost 2 for XLT due to those pesky p.o.s. Plastic clips had a couple failures so they were replaced.

Tried to schedule it to be done, but SM said it might have to sit overnight. I said that it shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 hours. He said he didn't know how long it would take, which to me means that they haven't done it. So, I cancelled.

Not doing it. When I trade mine in, for a new ranger in a few years, it will show up in the Carfax report .
then the dealer will have do it. in order to legally sell it again.
I've seen the reports about the recall being put on hold as ford engineers have found a new way to take the interior apart. They should, some posts are saying that the plastic trim parts that get scratched and broken are on back order, because they are getting screwed up so bad on this recall.

Not sure where you got this info, but the parts are not on back order and the fix is not a big deal if you have a good dealer to work with. I have zero issues as did most who get it done. Worse case it is all under warranty anyways.

I just had mine done. Everything is fine and it was no cost to me. Also decided to get an oil change since I had it in for service.

I saw the same things but that was a month or more ago

i was hoping that it could become available from mobile service or I’ll take it in at 10k miles whichever comes first.

I have been holding off due to all of the reviews here noting damage - just like the OP. Since there is no way to know whether the technician that will actually be performing the job is proficient at it or even knows to wash his/her hands before attempting the work, it is best to take as many pictures of the area as possible before submitting your vehicle.
I will probably have it done with the next (first) oil change. I changed the oil myself at 3k, and I am now at 6k. Target is 8k.
