Hey I had a lift installed and noticed the front shock nuts are both installed like this. the wing is supposed to be in the machined surface right??

does anyone have pictures of there's factory, eyes on it or service manual so show it correctly?

I wonder how they tighten those down. I dont think there is enough nut to grip with the tab welded to it. That does look odd.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This shop absolutely messed everything up they touched.
NP. Your welcome. But if they tweaked those tabs and now they don’t fit flush with the machined surface you might have a hard time keeping them torqued. Thats not even knowing if their purpose is to spread the load so the aluminum brackets won’t break. There’s a reason it’s not just a flat washer. I would not put them back on my truck.

The tab is only there to keep the nut from spinning during install, it doesn't secure anything.

It's just over 8 bucks for 4 new ones via my local dealer, and considering the tourqe they are supposed to be at, 550nm on front and 475nm rear, I'll just get new ones. probably do bolts aswell, only 65 for 4 of them.

dk if ill do the rear. they have a different bracket and I can't find them on fords website. Just need to get under truck again and have a closer look though.

Leave it up to "professionals" to F it up. I won't let anyone touch my vehicles unless absolutely necessary.

Why would the shock nuts be touched for an alignment?
I was getting a lift from GOAT installed and new tires + rims so they did an alignment after. Actually the first time iv taken a vehical to a shop unless I had to (recalls), even do my own tires normally, have a balancer and all. But iv been crazy busy don't like working on coils and figured id 'treat' myself for once by just dropping it off at a well recommended shop and being done.

top bolts on struts weren't tourqed. got atleast a half and a few, more than a full turn out of.

used a tremor for alignment, thought where it ended up was withing raptor spec.

did whatever the hell with the shock bolts.

damaged 2 of the rims.

tpms sensors I gave didn't work (some 25s have tpms117 and not tpms68), didn't try and use old ones or even call and ask what I wanted to do just gave truck to me with them all failed.

it was a mess tbh and now I gotta go do it all myself anyway and fight with shop on labor back. they are gonna replace the rims but the labor... we'll still to be figured out.
