My auto-start/stop doesn’t seem to be working the last few drives.

I know most people on here would see that as a good thing but I’d actually like it to work (I don’t mind pressing one button to deactivate it)

anyone else have this problem? I live in Florida and it has been 95-98 degrees the last couple of days so not sure if the truck has an issue or if it’s not going into auto stop to keep the engine fans running

Probably needs to keep the a/c compressor running...there are all kinds of parameters that lock it out

Start/stop is controlled by the ECM, engine has to be within it's paramerters to activate. My wife's Lincoln Aviator with same engine does the samething. Honestly I hate the start/stop function.

if its really hot outside the engine won't shut down to keep the coolent circulating and the fans in high power mode.

Probably the ambient temp is too high - needs the engine running to keep the cooling system active... Turbos need oil circulating to cool down too so just let the car do it's thing - it knows what's best for it (or it should with all the sensors and computers)

Stop/Start system in an engine like this makes little sense anyways - much better to just leave it running unless stopped for extended periods. The Stop/Start is just there as it needs to be to meet emission regulations

I am sure others would really like to know, you have a RR, do you have breathable seat covers? Use a beach towel? I am having a really hard time accepting driving around at close to 100 degrees on unventilated leather with the AC turned off… and why do you do it in the first place? It is very hard on the leather itself. Thanks.

Also if the battery is below a curtain charge the start/stop will not work due to charging of battery by alternator.

if I have my daughter with me I’ll drive with windows up and ac on but when it’s just me, I prefer the windows down and feeling the wind (on that note, I really like the electronic sliding rear window on this truck for the wind to pass through with less drag). I don’t turn the ac on with the windows down cause it doesn’t make a huge difference to me and might save me a couple mpg’s 👍

I find if I turn it off on startup and then turn it back on in a few minutes, it doesn't come back on.

I didn’t realize there was a dash menu for auto start stop.
Conclusion… it says outside temp is too high to turn the engine off.

so all of you complaining about the auto start stop or buying kill switches or tunes for this.. just move to Florida instead 😎
