Anyone else notice their third brake like looking like this. I don’t remember it having those “dents”. They seem exactly the same so kinda weird if not original

That’s what I’m thinking but they are rarely on. I looked at the only old pic I could find and they weren’t like this in it. It’s just weird both sides melted almost exactly the same.

It makes sense to me that both sides are warped the same since both bulbs put out the same amount of heat.
I work night shift so i occasionally see trucks on the highway with those cargo lights on while they're driving. wondering if yours are set to be on while you're driving and you haven't noticed?

Thanks for replies. Got a new led one on the way. Haven’t noticed them on and I leave home in the dark every morning so I’d think I would have noticed, but I’ll check again in the morning.

Have to ask, are they the stock bulbs or did you replace with aftermarket LEDs?

leds shouldn't produce heat, should they. even aftermarket?

i know on all the previous gen rangers, the stock bulbs would melt those lenses. my 04 had the issue and it was totally stock when i got it. i put led and got a new lens and it hasn't done it since

Stock bulbs. Only thing I did was to put tint on the lense. When I checked this morning they weren’t on. Doesn’t mean at some time that didn’t happen.

Most likely caused from the heat of the incandescent bulbs being retained by the tint. The plastic lens is most likely polycarbonate and that plastic starts to soften around 150°C.

Either lessen the amount of tint and/or switch to LED bulbs.

Its not the tint. Its cheap plastic. Seen this on all years rangers. Switch to LED and your done.
