I get the thought of the additional options but when you price your RR to $70k+ I think it really loses it's value proposition.

I can tell you it's not the Tacoma. I had a 2017 I bought new plagued with issues. Toyota bought it back, then I went back to an F-150 which I had for 7 years super reliable. Now fast forward a few weeks ago picked up a brand new Ford ranger which is light years better than the third gen Tacoma. The new tacomas aren't much better with their engine and transmission issues.

I considered Nissan but with their financial issues and possible bankruptcy I wouldn't touch one and from owning previous Nissans I wouldn't give them any of my hard earned cash.

I second the sentiment on Toyotas feeling old, incomplete and rudimentary.
I wanted to replace my Tacoma 2015 4x4 and COMPARED THE CURRENT MIDSIZES VERSUS THE RANGER, mainly the equivalent Tacoma Sport 4x4 vs Ranger Wildtrak 4x4), and the Tacoma didnt have leather seats, no rear AC, no electric retractable tonneau, no rear diff locker, the rear seat is very cramped and lacked now the previous flat fold rear seat back that had plastic cover (my dog and stuff visited that flat space frequently, and they destroyed it for the useless TRD Pro seats). And of course, Toyota decided o STUPID WHITEISH FABRIC ON THE SEATS(WTF). I found a lithany of things I didnt like a dozen textures on the interior plastics, the terrible rectangular vents, all squarish without any design meaning...

The taco was actually my first option and took me months trying myself to make it work with their options and looks, but could not reconcile the notable drawbacks. One day I went to check a 6 seater F150 with bench seat and found there were no short rear cab with short bed anymore. Just didnt click with me a truck 2.5' larger. Next day went back to Ford dealer and asked to drive a Ranger.... And three days later, agreeing to a 5k discount, and free extras (a tow hitch/ball and 3M window polarizing film), I made the first payment, and made additional payments along 3 months and afterwards went to get it paid in full, yehaw!

Its a very comfortable ride, nicely equipped, looks dignified and well rounded, sounds decent, the OEM electric folding bed tonneau is pretty useful, bed steps, ambient lighting, etc. Im pretty happy switching from my old reliable crude chariot-ride-quality Toyota b to an enjoyable well rounded truck.

Yet, my brother in law's 2024 Tacoma SR is about to be replaced for a leftover 2025 Ranger in few days. Their family didnt like it much.

If they are done as option pkgs you would still have the $57-60k trucks we have today.
I think those of us looking for more goodies and more luxury features just want the options to be offered.

Ie. When the TRX came out you could get a nice equiped truck with the standard features in the 70k-80k range. I ordered mine pretty well decked out with all the luxury options, and it priced out in the low 90s. This was back in 2020 at launch. 2024 they were a lot higher. But the primes is similar.

Just offering more doesn’t mean everyone would have to choose to buy those options.

I am sure some of us would gladly pay more for a higher spec, others I am sure would prefer to stick with a spec similar what we have now at a price similar to now.

I traded in a 24 Chevy Colorado Bison for my 25 RR, the Raptor is better in every way.

The Bison looked great but it had no power and needed gears, it constantly downshifted going up hill and barely went into overdrive on the highway. The tech was lacking and it needed to download updates weekly, very annoying. I was able to get it for $12k off, they’re not selling.

Ford knocked it out of the park with this and I can’t wait to get the Livernois tune on it.

Nice move!

Those 3.42 axle gears kept me away from the GM twins.

cc1999, How would that work? My RR had BL wheels, bedliner and mudflaps and was over $60k. So I could add a "package" with a sunroof, nicer leather, etc. and pay the same or less? Sure. I just wish we had the option of factory PPF for $500 like all the other Rangers have.

He was saying you could still buy one optioned as they are now around today's price. Then offer a package adding all the bells and whistles for those willing to pay thousands more. Maybe a Ranger Raptor Platinum??

Exactly, I for one would have ordered one with higher trim interior, sunroof, v8 if offered.

ā€˜The appeal of the RR for me is its size , is just so perfect for my daily needs.

As Pic said, you just pay more for the options you want.
Like I would pay 70k for higher spec RR.

Not saying they should change the price or features of the current version.

Simply wanting Ford to offer a few higher spec options, which would cost more, but the key word is optional, you would not have to buy those options or that higher spec higher price if you didn’t want those options.

Same here. I would be a buyer if the "Platinum" package included ventilated seats and HUD.

FWIW...I have both (Denali and RR) and for completely different purposes. There are little details on the Denali that I really like such as cooled seats, step bumper and better highway MPG. But my favorite is the RR due to its excellent suspension and motor (Cal-tuned, of course).

I would glad pay an extra 5-10k for more unp scale interior, higher end leather, cooled seat option, resr seat vents, sunroof, more premium materials.
Overall I really not disappointed in my RR at all, I guess proof of that I did buy a second one. Lol

I really didn’t notice much difference in the nobs from my Bronco to my RR.
ā€˜I always felt the RR was nicer inside overall compared to my Bronco.
ā€˜This was my Bronco.
ā€˜It was a great daily, terrible road trip vehicle, somewhat crude inside, and I hated all the road and wind noise it had. That said , I do sort of miss it too.

What sucks is now, if I wanted to get another one, I can’t get a 2dr Bronco near as loaded out as mine was, most importantly you can’t get the 2.7 v6 anymore in a 2dr.:crying:
2025 was the last year, and it was only offered in the Stroppe eddition.

I went from a 2023 white 2DR Wildtrak to the RR. I don't miss all of what you don't miss about the Bronco.
