I am trying to decide between the XLT and Lariat

it seems to me that an XLT with the 301A and technology packages is a better deal and only missing

bigger driving digital instrument cluster display
wireless Charging

memory seats
“leather” seats
projector headlights
running boards
Better sound system
running boards
rain sensing wipers
heated steering wheel
homelink
led Top brake light
zone lighting
second glove box
push button start
18” wheels

which I suppose after writing it down is probably why the difference in cost

anything I got wrong or that I am missing?

and why is sand such a hard color to find in a lariat?

I got an XLT FX4 with the technology and towing packages. It came with the bigger 12” display, wireless charging and running boards. While I would love to have the heated steering wheel and maybe projector lights, the rest of the Lariat package didn’t really matter to me.

It’s all about personal preferences and finances.

Your list of items are the things I wish my XLT had. I really wish I had memory seats because it includes easy entry/exit.
Well maybe not the heated steering wheel in Florida.

Does the tech package in the xlt upgrade both screens or just the center screen?

and I think the list is missing the second (upper) glove box that the lariat has.

I love my XLT. Would push button start and leather be nice? Sure, but not worth the extra cost to me. Mine also has the technology package, so larger screen, dual zone climate, and power rear window.

The headlights are in the top 5 of what I've experienced in anything, so while the Lariat ones may be "better", the XLT ones are quite good.

As far as the upper glove box, I added that myself, so I'm not really missing anything.

FORD figured out the glovebox issue. They went on back order about a month ago, then re-released with a new part number and an increase of almost $200.
Glad I got mine when I did.

I just purchased an XLT with the FX4 and tech packages. The only things that I miss are the better seats (people have claimed that the Lariat seats are shaped better), push button start and Homelink.
Knowing what I know now, I may have paid the significant upcharge for the Lariat,… maybe…..but it almost killed me to pay over $40k for a new truck as it is, so, maybe not….

I went Lariat for a couple reasons.

1. B&O stereo. No its not competition level but its good enough and I knew the standard wasnt gonna be.
2. The speedometer cluster. IDK why but I loved the upgraded gauges etc on the Lariat that doesnt come in the XLT

Those were my biggest factors. There are some niceties that I dont hate but could have lived without. Headlights, heated steering wheel. 18" tires/rims vs 17".

ONE Drawback, maybe, to the Lariat is that the Rough Country 3.5 lift isnt compatable with the Lariat but is with XLT, so if thats on your radar...

I did a 3" level kit and a 1 inch rear lift and its just right.

The biggest turn off that I see is having to deal with dangling keys as the XLT has no push button start. The one I test drove had an attachment which was constantly hitting my knee. Plus my current fob has several keys attached.
