I saw someone else post about the rusty drive shafts and i went and took a look at mine and i'm in the same boat... i'll be talking to the dealer tomorrow about my map/dome light issues and i'll also ask them what they plan to do about all the rust on my 6 day old truck. i'll keep you posted for sure.

Very frightening to see!
Please let us know what reconciliation the dealer offers you.

Out of curiosity, was your truck built in Jan/Feb and then sat in the lot? Or was it built and then promptly shipped in March?

Nice video. I like to perform my own oil/filter maintenance. It looks like you need to remove a skid plate to get to the oil drain plug and filter. But we couldn't really get a feel for where they are located. Would have been nice to see where the oil fill cap is located. Have you tried to remove the headrests on the rear bench seat? They might release up and out.

With regard to the ramps...I would not use them for a truck. Thin walls and flimsy looking. Too sketchy imho. No rubber stops to keep them from sliding out. Which we already witnessed when you came down from the rear. In fact I probably would not use them for a light car either just by seeing them slide out like that. Also , always chock your wheels when using ramps.

Apparently the 2021 Ranger XLT FX2 had the drive shaft painted. 24' saved a couple bucks? See photo below

i dont know the build date of the truck, i'll have to look into that and get back to you... rust like this can pop up in a couple days so that is no real indication of the time it sat

great idea about chocking the wheels... i actually have wheel chocks but for some reason thought i would be okay without them. And i agree, these seem too weak, i dont think i'll be crawling under the truck when it is up on these anymore. I think you are right about the head rests popping out pretty easy, i'll check that. As for the oil fill cap, i'll try to make a video about that and also drop the front skid plates to show where the oil drain plug is for all of the people who want to do their own oil changes with their preferred oil brands... i'm a royal purple fan myself

I stick to the manufacturer-specified oil to avoid any warranty hassle. I just don't trust dealerships to do anything to be honest. Especially when I'm capable of doing it.

Oh and that's excellent info on the license plate bracket. I was always worried that some dumba$$ tech was going to drill my plate bracket into the front bumper of my cars when they arrived.

Thanks for all the info! My white Ranger Raptor will be here this week. Actually it's for my wife, her first brand new vehicle at age 58. She's been driving the family second vehicle her whole life so im so happy for her. I'm ordering one for me as soon as hers gets here. Thanks to you I feel confident these will last us to end. At least 20 years. We both work a mile away from home. Thanks again brother!

How tall are you? You don't find the interior cramped, adequate driver's seat leg room?

Thanks for yet another awesome vid!

I got some Quick Jacks for the garage, the TL7000 should be good for all my vehicles. My garage ceilings aren't tall enough for a proper 2 post or 4 post lift so those will work until the next house. I'd definitely look at something other than those ramps, even a jack with some sturdy stands.

As for oil, I'd steer away from the royal purple. They were good back in the day, not so much any more. You'll get a hundred different recommendations if you ask on oil. I'm not even sure what I'll run in the Raptor yet. I run Red line in the CTS-V but that's what the engine builder recommended.

Keep coming with the videos!!

So, the one thing I would say about the door being tough to close. You showed it on the video, the double insulation. There is a ton of pressure built up inside and any door you choose to close last will be the toughest to close. The others were all easy to close because the other doors were still open at the time, and then you picked the drivers door last to make the point on. If you had a window open or had other doors open at the same time, the drivers door would close normally.

Machined flange surfaces like the one in your picture between the pinion flange surface and U-Joint retainer surface, must be clean and free of any dirt or debris (including paint) when the pieces are mated together. Otherwise, the critical torque applied to the fasteners will be compromised by the debris on the mating surfaces. If they applied paint to those surfaces, they would have to remove it prior to assembly.

That is no any issue. My F250 2013 comes like that. Now 11 years with me not any issue. Just apply Anti rust grease on it. Solved ✅
