I thought it would be nice to have one place to answer everyone's questions about the ordering process. This should clean up the forum a bit and avoid repeat questions. I don't have any association with Ford, or its dealers, so everything I've learned has been from these forums. Please feel free to correct me, or add any updates as they come.

@administrator, if there is a way to pin this thread to the top for a few months, that would be helpful.

What does my order number mean?

The order number is set by the dealer, not Ford. It doesn't have any real significance in the ordering process.

What are the priority codes my dealer sets?

The priority code is a way for the dealer to set its priority on the vehicle with Ford. The lower the number, the higher the priority is. The highest priority for a customer order was priority 10, but some have mentioned that it can now go lower than that.

How do I get my VIN?

Your VIN will be assigned once your truck has been scheduled to be built. If your truck has been scheduled, and you didn't receive a VIN, the best way to get it is by contacting Ford chat and giving them your order number and dealer. They should be able to find your VIN from there.

My order has entered "In Production" on the tracker a week early, does that mean it's getting built ahead of schedule?

No, this has typically meant that your build has been locked-in to be built the following week (most likely your previously set build week)

My order is "In Production", how do I find my window sticker?

Window stickers can be found using this web address and adding your VIN after the = at the end of the URL: https://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?vin=

What is "Blend Date"?

The Blend Date is the date your vehicle was built. This date should be listed at the top of your window sticker. The first number of the blend date can be ignored, then the following numbers are the year/month/day

My order has been "In Production" for a long time and I know it's built! Why hasn't the tracker updated to "Built"?

The tracker seems to leave it "In Production" until it's about ready to be shipped. Once you see the "Built" status, you should see it shipped within a few days after that. This entire process should speed up as Ford gets more of the Rangers out the door.

You should work for Ford.

Could also add FAQ about the As Built website, tracking modules, and tear tag.

Yes! I don't know much about it because I never bothered with it. Would you mind adding a comment with that info if you have it?

Pretty sure Dealer priority codes now can range from 3 to 19. The lower the better, but those are only priority within that dealership, doesn’t really affect the priority at Ford production

"AsBuilt" data is comprised of the codes and settings of all the programmable electronic modules in your truck "as" they were when the truck was originally "built". Ford provides a website where these codes can be viewed and downloaded for service procedures: https://www.motorcraftservice.com/asbuilt

During the build process, you can check this site to determine if the modules have data. Since these are only populated towards the end of the process, when you see hundreds of lines of hex codes in the BCM module, you can reasonable assume your truck is nearing completion.

There is a "Tear Tag" area on the page that will be blank until all the modules have been configured and tested. When that area has a four letter/digit code, your truck is complete and has rolled off the assembly line.

And into the waiting yard for transport....might take a couple days, weeks, or months but you will get it

Great info.

For the priority code, I was told by 2 different sales managers that the Ford ordering system “Webdo” sets the priority code automatically and can’t be changed. Not sure if that is true or not? I’m a 19 on my order.

Great job, that is spot on. Priority codes can be as low as 03 by the dealer, so retail orders can get 03-19 with stock orders 20-80. Only the region can give an order an 02 or 01. 01 will always be scheduled. We see that on manually allocated vehicle lines like the Raptors.

Can anyone confirm - A new order goes into the unscheduled order bank pile. From there a dealer then uses an allocation to build what Ford says could potentially be built this scheduling period?

Or is it that they use an allocation, to get it into the unscheduled order bank pile in the first place?

Reason I'm asking is when I placed my order a few days ago on Saturday the 16th, I never got the automated "order confirmation" email from Ford. And going through ford chat, they show no record at all of the new order. Not sure if my dealer is messing with me for changing/reordering, after assuring me it was no problem at all (or if something just plain went wrong).

Did your dealer get your personal information, copy of drivers license and your email address? Verify they entered your email on the order, I got my confirmation the next day

Yup, they have all that and deposit. First time I ordered I also got a confirmation same day, but that was back last September. It's this new order that I just placed that doesn't seem to exist yet.

I’d call them to verify order placed, accepted by ford and correct email entered
