Just got home from Moab. We did Top of the World and Hells Revenge and the truck did better than I expected. Scratched every skid plate on the truck and the sliders, but never got stuck and no dents in anything. Only had to back up a few times to pick a better line. We chose not to do any of the optional obstacles on Hells (Hells Gate, Escalator or the Staircase) simply because I’m still learning the truck and I only have 8k miles on it, but still plenty challenging for an IFS vehicle. I have all the Rival skid plates, Rocky Road sliders, fordrangerlifts.com 3” front/1” rear lift kit, 315/70R17 BFG KO2’s and Method 708’s. I also modified a hitch skid plate from Rockslide Engineering that was made for a Gladiator and everything worked perfectly. 12psi in the tires. 100+ degrees out every day and the truck never got hot, never even saw the gauges above their normal range.

That is a dream trip for anyone with a Ranger Raptor. Unfortunately too far for me too... <sigh>

It was epic in deed. Photos don’t do it justice.
You are 100% correct !!

We were in Moab the first week of June and rode “fins and things” and “hell’s revenge” in a Kawasaki KRX. We stayed out till sundown to watch the sunset, freaking amazing!!

@pasali noticed upgraded, larger wheel tire set.
Curious, thoughts on stock RR set capability to do the same chosen 'path'?

Were you scraping a lot on Top of the World? That's on my list of things to do soon. My Raptor is pretty much stock as far as under-body protection goes.

Without a doubt it can be done in a stock RR, however it will take a little more effort.
My brother and I have been off roading for 40+ years and he was my spotter, which was extremely helpful. I did use the forward facing camera a lot, especially on Hells Revenge, but I don’t want someone to think that they can go out and do something like this with zero off road driving experience and no spotter. It’s a team effort to make it go smoothly. I think I could have done it without a spotter but it would take twice as long to get out and check tire placement on every obstacle.
Also, I came from a Jeep background and it is much easier to look out the window and see where your tires are in Jeeps, but the RR is so wide it takes some getting used to.
This was my first off road trip in the truck, but definitely not my last.

I have no intention of ever doing Hell's Revenge in it. I've done the whole thing a couple of times in a side by side and it's just too much to want to take my truck through it.

I have all 4 Rival skid plates and every one of them was utilized as well as my Rocky Road Outfitters rock sliders.
You can spend time stacking rocks to avoid scraping the undercarriage, but I know from experience that it’s just easier with skid plates.
Again, it can be done in a stock RR, but more difficult for sure.
The other factor is that the trail changes with traffic. What may have been easier for me on a particular day, could be more difficult on another day due to erosion or lots of traffic spinning tires and moving rocks on some of the obstacles.

There’s no place quite like Moab. Can’t say I’ve done much four wheeling there because I’m usually too busy mountain biking. Nice pics!!
