It was unofficially officially announced on February 22, 2022 by Ford CEO Jim Farley via Twitter. He then confirmed in several interviews. The portal isn’t open for official vehicle orders… but… calling and getting on “the list” will assure that they enter your name in first once they can manually enter orders.

The only step we are waiting on is the options list and pricing. My quote now is unofficially $52,900 with Wildtrak and pretty much every option I would want. But pricing isn’t official until it’s official.
I was the first in my dealer list as well. I talked to my salesman about 6weeks ago. Can’t wait to get an actual order placed!

Wait…okay i want to be clear, i am merely questioning you, not calling you a liar or making accusations haha i know how these forums can get…
Are you telling me that
1. You think the 2023 model will Launch in Sept?
2. You have had an actual conversation with Jim Farley about this?
If I read that right, please keep us posted to any other insider info you may have !
Farley already confirmed in multiple interviews and via his Twitter account that production of the 2023 models will start at MAP in spring of 2023. Order books may open late this summer or in the fall but trucks won't be on the road until around this time next year.

Corect, I understand that.bamBam said though that he has been talking to Jim Farley… emphasis on the fact he said “i”. So a September launch, if correct, would be great.

If all this is true, I think it is great! I have been anticipating the Ranger Raptor for a while. I have a 1st gen F150 Raptor and it has been a fantastic truck. The ranger Raptor will solve some of the issues I have with the Raptor I currently own (massive size, horrible fuel economy , 2014 interior, etc).

however, before I trot down to the local dealer with $1,000 to lay on the table…I need a little more info. Some official timing and something a little more legit sounding than a ‘dealer pre-order list’.

Hoping for some additional news soon!!!

Two requests:

1. Has anyone at Ford told you how long after the "regular" Ranger goes into production before the Raptor does? Or will they launch simultaneously? Launching the Raptor version at the same time as the non-Raptor trucks would break all previous protocols, at least for the North American market.

2. Please explain what the Wildtrak has to do with the Raptor. I assume the Raptor will be a separate model, not an add-on package to other trim levels and I do not recall seeing any mention of anything like that in any news articles about the Ranger Raptor for other markets. Or am I misunderstanding what you have "ordered"? Did you order a Raptor or a Wildtrak (which is not currently available for the US market)? The title of your post indicates you ordered a Ranger Raptor.

I can answer these both.
1. No one that knows the answer to this is speaking to anyone outside of Ford, and anyone claiming to have the answer is lying.

2. He's referring to the Wildtrak because the RoW spec sheet/product announcement sheet looks like this:

Well I'm not going to go out and say anyone is full of sh!t just yet.
I mean Jim probably has friends he talks too outside of Ford lol highly unlikely that he would divulge info like that to an outsider, but... idk get a few bourbon old fashions in me and i like to chit chat too :)

However, I do find it interesting that the GM at my Ford dealership had no idea about any new info, then called me back after they talked to "someone at Ford" and kind of reinforced what BamBam said...
So Idk... it'll be interesting.
If the Official Launch is September with orders opening shortly after and production (as previously leaked) stays accurate for May 2023, i would be a happy camper.

That would be super awesome...official launch is 4 months from now and all goes as everyone seems to think, then i would be happy to put a deposit down

In Australia I put a 1000 deposit down in Nov 2021 on the raptor before preorders were available and the dealer rang me to say I had the first delivery date allocation for Our state. So it can’t hurt to get in a deposit. I have a June/July build August delivery.

I stopped at a local Ford dealer yesterday and they didn't know any more about the Ranger Raptor for the US market than we do, which is not really surprising. They said I was the first to ask them about it so they took my contact info and put me at the top of their list for when they do get any ordering info. They didn't say anything about a deposit since the Raptor (or any next gen Ranger) isn't available to order yet. I assume they were just blowing smoke but they claimed they would only get an allocation of one Raptor for the first model year and that the price would include a markup. However, one salesman did say he already had three "orders" for next gen non-Raptor Rangers.

Yeah this is pretty much what I got from my local dealer. I'm essentially first on the list to call when they get word.

So that mark-up info reinforces my "No 23 Raptor Ranger" and firms up my 1st build option with the Ranger Tremor that should run ~$45K but really hope it offers the 3.0 V6 or even the 2.7L that's currently powering Bronco variants. Originally thought I'd really like a stab at running the baby Powerstroke but with the lease and county gravel roads I drive daily the extra weight of the diesel would play hell on front-end parts/repairs also the current ridiculousness of diesel >$1.50 per gallon more than gasoline settled that short internal debate. I held off getting a 21 til end of 22 but when I seen that Aus release with the next-gen front grill-hood and magnificent boost to the interior has me like a kid @ Christmas, impatient lol. Would love to hear some Pros-Cons between Raptor and Tremor need others thoughts may have overlooked so I can settle the impulse lol

Let me clarify….. the point I’m trying to make is that the Ranger Raptor orders are going to be done entirely differently than the crapshow crapshoot that was the Bronco and then Lightning ordering process.

With the Bronco… ford’s marketing department thought it would be a great way to build a massive mailing list as part of the roll out. So, you would put in a request with ford corporate… which would have worked if they sold vehicles at the corporate level like Tesla does. But they don’t… they use franchisees.

The initial “reservation” guaranteed nothing, but it led to a phone call from your local ford dealer who then took your $100 down payment to “hold a spot”. These didn’t really hold anything. That is why they are still trying to make good on orders taken as early as 2020 for Broncos. This has gotten worse for their next two launches… the Everglades Bronco and Raptor Bronco as those have essentially been set aside for those who didn’t get their 2021 Bronco order filled and can switch to one of these special editions.

So… the official Ford plan on the Ranger and Ranger Raptor are to take orders at your local dealership that you want to do business with. The nationwide ordering scheme became a total nightmare. Ford has dealt with tons of negative press over it and Stellantis has done the same with the TRX orders. They’ve spent months clearing out mega orders from hastily established LLC’s based in Montana (for tax reasons). That’s why you’re seeing Broncos, F150 Raptors, and TRX’s at grey market used dealers that are selling them for $100,000 off of a used lot. How are they getting stock when customers who put down money 2 years ago aren’t getting cars? The messy preorder system.

So I’ve been talking about it with a few people (including Jim Farley) and the decision was made that we could reserve at our own dealership and the down payment is going to be $1000. This will hopefully make more legit end user buyers put down a deposit on one rather than an LLC out of Montana putting down $2000 and holding 20 spots in line. I mean… we will never get rid of shills and flippers… but we can try to make a better system.

The other point I was trying to make was that the 23 models should show up on time, which is typically the September before the new year. So a 23 model Ranger should hit dealerships right around Labor Day for the upcoming sales year. They have ended production of the 22’s in Thailand which was the first step in the switchover. They are finalizing the plans to get rid of any remaining 22’s here and to then bring the 23’s online. They also plan to bring demos like they did with the bronco that won’t be for sale for a few months, and word is those should hit hopefully by July. This of course depends on chips, covid, supply lines, etc. etc.

I hope as a shareholder of ford, a fan of ford, and a hopeful buyer of a Ford that things go as they are currently planned. The Maverick rollout a few months ago taught some more hard lessons and they just need to ramp up production to meet demand. But I think if you want one, then it doesn’t hurt to have a contact at a dealership that is known for following through. I’ll update when I get the actual forms and hopefully have pics of all options and packages and prices sooner than later. I’m going with Code Orange and Wildtrak as of right now, and that’s about all I care about as of right now. :)
On time will be May of 2023 for the regular Ranger, Raptor after that. Farley has repeated this numerous times. There will be no 2023 NA Rangers on the road by this labor day. Ford just released the anticipated schedule for Job 1 again - still May of 2023.
