In 2020 it was reported the "Ford Ranger Is the Most American Car in the County" Not anymore its not! I looked at a new 2024 on my dealers lot this weekend. The USA and Canadian Parts Content sticker said USA parts content is 0.08%. So basically in a few years the USA parts content goes from 70% to ZERO -- NONE of the parts and made in the USA. Way to go UAW, you call that a win? Give it a few more years, they will move the factory where the parts are made.

No way it can be that low.
That was my first reaction too. But they do all say 8%. Which seems really low considering both the engine and transmission are both US components. Maybe they moved the decimal and it should say 80% 🤔

This is off an XLT:

While we want to think we are the only Americans there are also central and South Americans. I still won’t complain about North American parts, at least it isn’t overseas.

I'd rather have the parts built in factories that make consistent, high quality parts, regardless of where that factory is located.

If they're unionized or have good labor conditions, even better.

Amazing the ongoing propaganda and smoke screens today. Continue to report fake news and lies to Americans.

I re-read the Parts Content Information sticker and my interpretation is that the 08% US/Canadian content is for “vehicles in this car line” which I believe would refer to all vehicles in this segment and not just the Ranger. Just my two cents worth.

The point is Unions are chasing manufacturing out of the USA. Maybe you can enlighten us how moving production to Mexico helps the USA worker? More time to spend rioting and protesting in the streets?

Firstly this thread is about "USA And Canadian" parts content, not "American". The entire world uses the word "American" to colloquially mean the USA. Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba and so on are in the Americas, but nobody refers to them as America. What are you trying to prove? We are so weak we can't manufacture anything anymore but we can tell the rest of the world what "America" means and which bathroom to use. They don't care.

You are wrong, car line means the Ford Ranger. I would expect the Bronco to be similar since its made on the same line out of mostly the same parts. But it doesn't include any Chevy. Toyota, or even the F150. The whole purpose of this sticker is for consumers that may want to use this information to influence their purchase decision.

I have traveled to all parts of the Americas while in the USMC, trust me it is insulting to say you are American. Rather we would state we are Norteamericano or from Estados Unidos. Just being informative, nothing else.

There are already factories in South Africa, Thailand, my Ranger 4x4 Sport cost about 29K I don't get any other options but what that variant comes with. But I do not need ADAS or power seats or steering wheel. I like the 2.0 single turbo diesel option over the 2.3 gas engine.

There is always the BYD vehicles that will show up. Don't recommend you parking it in your garage.

.08% is a typo, correct?

Significant difference between 0.08% and 8%.
It says 08%, there's no decimal there. it could say 17%, or 09%. It's 8%. but I'm pretty sure the sheet metal is stamped here, and the Engine and trans are made here, So, don't know how they count parts percentage. Is an eninge the same as a bolt?
