The sound in your video is bad vct's. It is unmistakable after you've heard vehicles with them. The sound will get progressively louder and longer until they are replaced. If you take it to be diagnosed the steps will be - let it sit at least 6 hours. Then start and listen for noise. Yes your truck makes the bad vct noise as confirmed in your video. Then hopefully they replace them in a timely manner for you.

I think I have the issue. Cold start. Click clack for a few seconds. Not worried. I got 8 years 120k comprehensive warranty.

Do you mind if I ask where you had it in the shop at?
I'm a little paranoid that mine is starting to sound like your initial video.

I've taken a couple of cold start videos, but I can't tell.
I was debating on having Apple Ford, Apple Valley take a look, but would consider a different shop if they did a good job on yours.

They’re in for a tough morning. The sound is still there. Is it phasers? I still think so. Took November 5-21 to fix it the first time. Don’t see how this doesn’t end up in a buy back.

Back at the dealer - At least they had a loaner available.

If this is unresolved by Dec 5th I'll initiate the buy-back process. Not sure what I'd replace it with - but after 3 F150s, 2 Rangers, 1 F150Raptor, an Edge and a Bronco - might be time to be done with the brand.

Damn that sucks sorry man. Definitely a sign for me to not get mine replaced until they decide to use upgraded parts that won’t fail. Or we’ve all been wrong and it’s not the phasers and it’s something else entirely lol

Sorry to hear, but the grass is not greener with other makes. They all have their own pig in a poke problems.

I agree with that. In my self pity today I tried to think what I’d get instead and came up kinda empty.

my RR (built 03/24) has:

1. Door issues where my passenger and driver door won’t close properly. Factory fit issue. Ford dealer tried to correct it, even a body shop did but could not resolve. The door has to be slammed like an 83 Corolla with no fix in sight. Fords response was:
2. The truck sometimes accelerates when down shifting in Sport/Baja. You’ll come to a stop light or be slowing down and it will slip a gear and launch you towards the vehicle in front of you. Good times.
3. Wireless CarPlay works maybe 50 percent of the time. I have to constantly reset it. This seems like a Ford issue across its vehicles.
4. Cam phaser failure was the final nail for me.

I like the idea of the truck, but zero chance I’m keeping it. Too many headaches.
