The Stubby antenna

I purchased "The Stubby" by Cravenspeed antenna.
Put it on. It looks great but my FM reception was terrible. Took it off. Anybody else have this issue?

That's to be expected. For best reception, antennas need to be much, much longer than modern fashion has made them. Look at how long car antennas from the 70's were, before this stubby craze kicked in. Three feet long was common.

going to depend on how far you live from the main signals in youre area. If youre in a town and the station is there it'll be fine. If youre 30 miles away it may not work where a traditional one will

FM...? What's that? Just kidding. I swapped mine out to the stubby but only use Spotify.

its hard to get high gain at radio frequencies out of small antennas

i went stubby jr but i notice they even sell a cap

Mine works fine.

Stubbies will work fine when you are close to the transmitter or in an area that does not have a lot of structures ie buildings or land masses to radio signals.. in the part of California I am in a stubby is a horrid thing

My truck doesnt even have an option for siriusxm or i would just use that and get that dot antenna cover.

Ford's mind was definitely in the gutter when they designed that. Mine stays in the glove box. I've had Serious XM since it was invented.

You can get Sirius XM aftermarket. I don't listen to anything else. I listen to it on my cell phone at night when I want to go to sleep because they've got sleep music, which is very relaxing.

I know i can put it on my phone but i would only use it in the truck. I never remember to use it anywhere else

To intercept FM wave the antenna length is 30 inches, so even the ones we have are not very good.
