HUD?

Good Afternoon All,

Can someone solve the mystery for me? As I am counting down the days until the 8/4 build week, I am doing a bunch of searches and research on the new Ranger Raptor coming in. Looking forward to it. I have read in some areas that the Ranger Raptor comes with a Heads Up Display, other You Tube clips say it doesn't. Can someone set me straight on this? Believe it is not a deal breaker either way, just curious more than anything.

No Ranger comes with a HUD… maybe they were taking about the F150 Raptor and not the Ranger Raptor ??

Also as an fyi, windshield is 2 pane with a soundproofing layer, which wont work with a HUD (it would give you a double image).

While there are aftermarket HUD's you can add, there is not a factory option.

The aftermarket HUDs often have to use a reflective film patch you apply to the windshield. This can look out of place but if it doesn't bother you they seem to work.

My wife's car has a HUD, I cant see it with my sunglasses on. It's a great feature but even without my glasses I ignore the HUD altogether. Wife said she does "Forget its there". Be nice to have.

This is bang on

i used an Iphone App that works great as a hud, very sharp and clear.

But no matter how i angled it, i got the double image

It seems you have to buy a HUD specific windshield glass with a wedge layer in it

Anyone know if this is possible yet?

If anyone has this issue with their sunglasses it might be because the hud light, or window reflector, has the opposite polarization (vertical vs horizontal). Tilting your head 45 degrees is usually an easy way to check.

Some of the older gas pumps have horizontally polarized screens and look like they’re turned off until you take you take your vertically polarized sunglasses off.

i just learned something from you guys posts. i never knew anything about horizontal and vertical polarization in lenses or screens. i knew sometimes you can't see stuff with them but not why
