It records at 2K, I'm very satisfied with it.

I've had some viofo dash cams before, the thing I liked most about this dashcam is how easy it is to connect to it, it's very simple and intuitive, you just open the app and tap on it, no need to press any button on the camera, open wifi settings, etc..

I have the VIOFO A139 Pro 4k 2ch. I had the Viofo A229 in my last truck, but didn't like it's overall size on the windshield since I use the phone app to view the videos anyway. I like the A139 better. Here are day and night videos that I captured. I wired the cameras to the USB port, so the features while parked are not available in my setup. I'm also using the kdenlive open source pc app to edit the videos

After reading some of the FB posts of people getting hit, what Dash Cam’s are people running or considering to run in their G6 rangers? Any pic;s would be appointed!

The thing to know is that almost every single dash cam on Amazon is actually made by the same 2-3 companies but just repackage or redesign the externals and software. They're almost always the same sensors. I've used 5-6 in my last car, and they all act almost identically. Redtiger, ROVE, and VANTRUE are all good if not basically the same. Do research and see which one has the features you want. I do recommend a three channel (front, interior, and rear camera) unit so you can get all angles if there's a crash.

Sure, if you cause an accident and have a dash cam the footage can be used as evidence against you. But having the camera installed makes you instinctively more aware when driving because you know it can be used against you. Bottom line is don't drive like an idiot and you'll be fine

Negative - - dash cams are solely for personal use/sharing at your discretion and provide potentially objective 'proof' from false claims.

Soooo after cam incident view...if cam footage shows you're 'at fault,' no one has access to footage unless volunteered

I have this exact same setup and it works great. The little wiretap kit I bought off amazon as well did the trick nicely to keep install clean. No issues so far.

Bought a FitcamX. It replaces the rear view mirror front camera bezel. Has t harness to plug into the factory wiring for power. Then you run the second cable for the rear camera. Have one from a different company for my Fusion and you can't even tell it's there. You can view through an app on your phone. I posted what it looks like in my build thread.

Which wiretap kit did you use? I want to install my dash cam but unsure if there is anything in the mirror area I could pull power from. Any help would be appreciated!

then I tapped into the grey connector that supplied power to the rearview mirror. Taped it up, ran the little cord out side of the housing for the camera to plug into. I should note this only powers the camera while the truck is running which is fine enough for me.

it is prefect? No. I could have notched the backside and ran the cable that way but meh. I had it done and connected in minutes. Super easy.
