Love the smell of paint correction in the morning. Believe it or not I actually bought my little Ranger XLT brand new, but it sat on the dealer's lot for about a year before I bought it. It was actually custom ordered by another party who backed-out before purchasing it.....so there it sat....and sat exposed to the elements before I came along. After purchasing it I noticed some light oxidation along the top of the truck. That's where Chemical Guys came in.......they had a 1 week promotion on their Torq-X orbital/C4 compound combo that was too good to pass up. So after nearly 4 hours, and masking sensitive areas of the truck in stages, the paint came shining through. Started with Chemical Guys InSynchro V43, but it wasn't cutting through the oxidation. So then went to Chemical Guys C4 and in about 3 passes the oxidation was gone! The truck now lives in a proper garage....where it belongs.

Last July I bought a 2024 Ranger XLT FX4 4X4 Cactus Grey. After closer inspection found it was covered with swirl marks. Drove me nuts for a year before I was able to have a detail shop buff it out and then apply 2 coats of Ceramic Pro Ion coating
So much better.
Your truck looks good.

Looks good. Curious as to why was the paint oxidation was your problem on a new truck? Dealers have insurance and they should have noticed it, made a note at time of sale, and repaired it. I bought a dark blue Corvette brand new off the lot in 1980. The car had been exposed to acid rain and there were dark blotches in the metallic paint all over it. Chevy provided a certificate to take the Vette to a body shop and paid to have the paint repaired. You may not be willing to take this up with your dealer for reimbursement but I don't see why you should be shelling out money and time to make a repair to a new truck.

Looks like a good time to ceramic coat your beautiful truck.....if you ask me. I prepared my paint as soon as I got home from the dealership knowing this is my only chance to get a perfectly clean truck and ceramic coat it. I pulled the wheels and did them and the wheel wells too.

That really looks fantastic.

I wish I had a 2-car garage, but it's just 1, so it's reserved for the convertible, and the sad reality is the truck has to face the elements year-round like the workhorse it is...

Always do my vehicles as well.
Factory paint is ok,but lot monkeys kill them while they sit.
So within the first week, paint correction, followed by ceramic coat, followed by PPF in all the important locations, and send it lol

It was a good excuse to finally buy an orbital polisher. Plus I was fairly confident that I'd be more conscientious than the dealer.
