What is your unexpected favorite feature?

What feature did you find that you unexpectedly now have to have in your Ranger?

For me it was the Brake Hold feature, turned it on to try it and it has become subconscious to use it when waiting in line at the drive-thru or at a red light. It is so nice not to have to hold the brake pedal.

I don't know that this is my favorite feature, but one feature that I've been liking a lot more than I thought I would is the LIM button on the steering wheel. I've been driving on a lot of unfamiliar roads through small towns in the last few months for my kid's extracurricular activity and it's fantastic that it automatically adjusts my speed like, for example, when the speed limit drops from 45 to 25 unexpectedly. I have a uniden r8w hardwired but really only use it on highways because I don't like speeding in rural or residential areas.

I like auto hold as well! And adaptive cruise control with speed sign recognition is pretty nice as well!

I don't have the adaptive cruise control, but we do have it in my wife's 24 Edge and that is also a really cool feature.

I know im going to get some hate on this one, but I really like the corner illuminating feature. Super handy when Im driving through dark and unfamiliar roads or streets late at night. Tons of deer in my area, and while It hasn't saved me (or them) yet, I feel like it could.

I know a lot of people hate the feature...

Adaptive cruise control and 360 overhead camera view. I was not sold on the technology package, but so glad I have it now.

Integrated Box Step. I just received my XLT. Had a smaller 4G XL roll up windows 2.3L standard before. Much easier to not have to roll the gears. A lot more power out of the 2.3L MPC. I am not the best at backing up. Parking sensor and camera. I did not put a lot of electronics on it. Wish to keep the vehicle as long as I can. Maybe last vehicle purchased.
Thinking of putting an extended warranty on it for sensor failures. Mechanically, that's why i purchased it. More robust with solid frame.
Its a sweet ride.

I agree with Auto-Hold. The dealer demonstrated it on my test drive and I've never turned it off since.

Why would people hate that feature? People are mounting extra lights on their hoods to get better side illumination. I've rented new wranglers, and while they're fun, the one thing that stood out to me was how profoundly poor the stock lighting was, especially during slow, tight turns which is exactly where the corner lights shine (pun intended) on my lariat.

Auto hold for one - annoying when you drive a vehicle without it

sport mode - I really like how it downshifts early so is handy in a lot of situations

intelligent access - don’t have to ever take the key out

viewing the tire pressure numbers

tailgate soft open

and the fog lights really help in getting a wider lighted view.

i agree finding the edge of the road on dark rural paved or gravel road can be hard.

I want all the light I can get.

Agreed, it's a nice touch! I had no idea that feature even existed until the first night we were driving. It may have also almost caused an accident as my fiancee was driving and I exclaimed "Woah the lights follow the turn!!!" Hahahaha

Wow I'm reading through these and learning. I disabled my auto hold thinking "why would I want that?" but maybe I'll give it a try.

Also I'm not sure if my Sept 2025 built XLT with 301A and technology package has the cornering lights? I'll have to check after dark.

I'm liking the Android Auto autoconnect and the various voice commands, still sorting out who can best follow my instructions on my music apps, Google, Alexa or the Ford voice command.

My truck was also built late enough in the year to come equipped for Sirius XM 360L which can receive all the streaming Sirius stations over the air which I was hoping I'd get.


oooh I just went and looked and I have the LIM button. So I just enable it in my settings, adjust the tolerance then use the button to switch it on and off when driving?

Good question, and I don't know. If your steering wheel has a button labeled, "LIM" then you've got the feature. And if you have it, you can set it to be the speed limit (maybe the default?), or +1, +2, +3, +4, or +5. I have mine set to +5 which is probably enough to earn a performance award in a 25mph zone from a local cop, but when the truck slows me down automatically it's enough of a reminder to me to behave and watch out (for kids, pets, OR cops).
