Well…….Just received my first California registration renewal in the mail for my 24’ RR. $834.00 for a sticker that’s only good for a year. I’m curious to know what my out of state friends pay on renewal fees ?

Free in Ontario Canada now. Licence fees were removed by Provincial Conservative government 2-3 years ago.

Where I live i TX it's 73 buks and some change. Depends of county of registration and if you live in a smog check zone it goes up! I feel that pain ***n, wow!

In Louisiana, it's $60 every 4 years for pickup trucks under 6K GVW, $112 for over 6K.
Passenger cars, it's something like $2 per $1000 value, every 2 years.
I think permanent license plates for trailers are about $120, one time fee.

A state inspection is $20 every 2 years.

I pay around $700-800 a year for registration on my Ranger Raptor in NH. However we have no sales tax in NH on anything! However real estate taxes can be pretty steep depending on the location and property.

I pay $60 every 2 years here in Massachusetts. Although my first excise tax bill was $620. Some things are surprisingly cheap here. When I see what people in other parts of the country pay I feel kind of lucky money wise. (Politics.... don't get me started). I pay full coverage insurance for my 2024 Ranger, 24 Honda Transalp and 64 Buick Riviera for a total of about $1400. Homeowners insurance is a little over $900.

Here in the part of texas i live, its 74 a year. No inspection or smog since we always pass the air checks they do. Ocean breezes help us stay clean for air quality.

If you a disabled vet, its 7 bucks for your main vehicle amd the rest are still 74.

We make up the differemce in property taxes though. I bought my 2/1 house with detached garage on half an acre for 40k back in 2010 or 2012 and the state pushed my taxes up to almost 3500. I have to fight it each year they send out the appraisal forms. They say my place is magically worth almost 150k now even though i have a dirt driveway and no fence around the property.

God, i hate the tax appraiser.

Kansas has a State registration fee plus each county assesses their own personal property tax. The total is based upon make, model, and year, MSRP, and also GVW, engine, and if gas burner, a hybrid or an EV. Basic State registration for a gas vehicle is $30 if under 4500lbs, a hybrid is $50, a full EV $100. EV and hybrids avoid or pay less tax at the pump, so the State nails you for being an environmental steward who uses less to no fossil fuel. Then you add personal property tax in my county, which for my vehicle is @ $757 a year since I have a 2025 Ranger with the 2.7L engine. A RR is more, @ $820 or so. The property tax goes down each year as the vehicle devalues, which, as I pointed out to my State Rep, means less incentive to buy new since a preowned model has less property tax, which should make new car dealers very unhappy. He said, "Nobody thinks about that." I said, " Exactly." We have no annual vehicle inspections or pollution checks.

High reg fees, Super High Gas Tax ($1.50/gal) . . . High Bridge Tolls . . . And we still have crappy roads.

Yep, goes by value. And what do we get for that? Trashed roads and highways and eternally broken traffic control systems. I've always said if you want to live here you need a truck or Jeep just for the paved roads.

You also pay commercial fees on a truck whether you use it for business or not. You don't have a choice.

i'm in the great state of welfare fraud and i think my '25RR renewal will probably be around $600. Cant order mine until January. Our taxes are ridiculous in this state and they just give it away to fraudsters then act like we are the assholes when we get pissed. I wish i could convince the wife to get out of this shithole.
