After all the mark up + tax title +license and finance, it's going to cost me over $70k. Should I even bother?

I don't mind ordering, I have been looking at the market every day. I haven't been able to find one that isn't marked up near me.Plenty available without markups. Buying 25 or ordering 26?
Stop looking near you. There have got to be 25's still out there and deals are available, I bought my 2025 on 12/12/25 and I got it for under invoice. It was local to me here in FL.I don't mind ordering, I have been looking at the market every day. I haven't been able to find one that isn't marked up near me.
Let's just say I find one. Priced to 60k obo. After tax title license and finace so and so. That would put it to $70k. Being able to find one at msrp or no markup sounds reasonable. But when you add the markup in. It really messes with the truck being affordable.Personally, I wouldn't pay ADM. I went 90 minutes to get mine because I wanted a specific color and didn't want to pay any markups (though admittedly none of the dealers were doing that much it was all 1-3k at most).
That's any vehicle at that price, though.Let's just say I find one. Priced to 60k obo. After tax title license and finace so and so. That would put it to $70k. In part, I sympathize because I still am living in 2019 dollars mentally. I think everything is way too expensive.
You should always go price comparable vehicles and test drive a few. The RR is certainly a more premium vehicle than anyone 'needs', but also way less premium than you can spend. You can get a nice 4x4, Ranger or otherwise, to build into a rig for less money to essentially do most of the same things and go to the same places. At that point it's all subjective valuations. There's no correct answer, only compromises.
For me, the Lariat would probably fill all my 'needs', but RR gets me the 'wants' so that I don't need a second vehicle right now as I'm trying to simplify my garage.
Here in California, your looking at 10 to 12% in charges for tax, title, license, finance etc.Not sure how you're going from a 60K price to 70K out the door. Mine was 59K. Taxes, tags AND extended bumper to bumper warranty PLUS a long-term maintenance plan was way under 70K. Unless it's your California taxes...
Taxes will be about 4700-4900 depending on county. Registration will be about 1600-1700. So not all the way to 70 but getting close. Not sure how you're going from a 60K price to 70K out the door.
