Any follow-on annual vehicle property tax too? If so, besides insurance that becomes an added operating expense.

10.5% tax and doc fee and the RR with some factory options like the bed liner, graphics, and wheels is not a bad deal. No options, maybe closer to $65k.

That's the confusion. They are wanting 68k like no options

I agree in principle, but and a big but:
1. Most people won't retire with 2M in the bank, that's okay.
2. I didn't interpret OP's concern as "afford" rather it was a question of value. Whether the truck is worth the money not whether OP has the money.
Yes, to me value is relative to core utility. I needed new truck. New truck with minimum options to make sense as my primary vehicle is 40k, because everything is 50% more than it should be. So I spent 20k on wants, not 60k.

When is Tim saying Job 1 is supposed to happen.

I thought it was supposed to start last week sometime.
My understanding is when they start shipping. They have in the past put a quality hold that lasts until Ford is sure quality standards are met. I would think "quality" is the amount of reworks get to manageable level. The repair department can only handle a small number of vehicles a day. They also look for common defects during this time so they don't leave the plant and cause a recall.
Tim did not give date but Ford doesn't announce it ahead of time according to him.
With so few changes to the Ranger for 2026 in doubt if the hold will be very long.

Seems quite a few of us have Blend dates of this week, so I assume we'd see shipping in a month or so?

That would be a good bet. Mine took a month to arrive after build date. Tracking did not follow build / shipping dates very well. Only date that was correct was the text message saying the vehicle had been delivered to the dealership. Online tracking still showed it hadn't shipped yet! Arrived on a Saturday dealer contacted the following Thursday saying it was ready for pickup.

That's any vehicle at that price, though.

In part, I sympathize because I still am living in 2019 dollars mentally. I think everything is way too expensive.

You should always go price comparable vehicles and test drive a few. The RR is certainly a more premium vehicle than anyone 'needs', but also way less premium than you can spend. You can get a nice 4x4, Ranger or otherwise, to build into a rig for less money to essentially do most of the same things and go to the same places. At that point it's all subjective valuations. There's no correct answer, only compromises.

For me, the Lariat would probably fill all my 'needs', but RR gets me the 'wants' so that I don't need a second vehicle right now as I'm trying to simplify my garage. https://www.boostwin1.top/
Yeah, that sums it up well. Everything feels overpriced now, so it really comes down to needs vs wants—and whether the RR replaces another vehicle or not.

In my opinion, i think paying 60 to 70k for a RR is much better option then paying $50k for Maverick Tremor. This is my main arguement. But it still bugs me that I have to overpay for a RR.

Regardless of what truck I end up with. I am not being offered any real discount or .......
I was out the door at 60k... don't donate above MSRP.

Unless you really want avalanche gray, I would find a leftover on a lot. There are no product changes, so it's not worth paying the extra MSRP ford is charging for 2026.

I just purchased 2025 Marsh Grey Ranger Raptor 1st week of January. It must have been one of the last 2025’s to be built as dealership received 2 towards end of December.

My purchasing experience was interesting. Both RR’s were $2.5k over sticker but fee was waved and discounted $2.5k off MSRP if financed with one of their banks for 90 days. It was a no brainer for me. This Ford dealership is always 1 or 2 volume dealership in Utah. They are getting a few more RR in January but I believe they are 2025.

I hope this helps! So far I’m damn impressed with this Ranger Raptor.

Are you counting the interest you will be paying over the term of the loan? The dealer only gets a tiny piece of that upfront. The interest can always be negotiated for a couple of points as well but it will not make a material difference. Search the country and have it shipped.
Yes, I calculated interest for 90 days. The max I could pay on 1st payment was $48k, 2nd payment is $12k then payoff on 3rd payment. Total interest paid is about $500 which is $2k off MRSP. From what I discovered, this is how dealerships are getting kick backs from banks for sending them loan opportunities.

I’m hoping this is not this first time you have heard this dealership practice.
