Hello all, Now that most of the country is experiencing cold weather has anyone had a problem starting their Ranger with the push button start? This morning it was -9 degrees F. She started with the key fob and ran its cycle but when I got in it and hit the start button it only went into what I would call a accessory mode ( fan, lights, etc. ) but no start. Finally after many tries of pushing the start button it started. Any thoughts or ideas. Wife took it to church, hopefully it will start when she comes home. I know that I am old school, but these new trucks have to much sh#t on them.

13 deg here this morning. I don’t have push button start, but my truck started with the key and remotely from the fob this morning.
i know this doesn’t apply to your situation, but I never had issues with the push button start on my other vehicles in cold weather.

It acted like it was a key start that the key had been turned almost all the way to start but not crank.

Not nearly as cold as you. We're currently at 20°. I did not have any issues starting the truck this morning when it was only 8°. Same year and trim as you, 2024 lariat.

Sounds like you are not getting full voltage from battery, Clean the top of the battery ( pour very hot water over top of battery and wipe with rag) and check for good connection at cables.

I’m wondering if there was condensation in the switch from high humidity to, then when the temps dropped, the push button couldn’t make contact to start the vehicle???

Just a reminder on all ford push-button starts, your foot has to be depressing the brake pedal to get the ignition signal...

It was -36F here yesterday morning, push button started without an issue.

I did encounter that a couple of times on my old 5th gen Ranger, but I always thought it was just me not pushing on the brake hard enough.

I have a 2025 Lariat. I'm also in Michigan and experienced the -9Âş weather. I had no issues with remote start and push button start. Sorry you had that issue :/

Temp was 7 F and I had 17 in of show on my 24 Lariat today. I hadn't driven it in 4 days and it started up with the fob.

i remeber this happeng to me in a Prius many years ago. Finally figured it out.

I also remember being in the Atlanta airport and seeing a poor man looking at the sink wondering how to get the water on. Fortunately I had just figured it out so I could explain to him there was a sensor.

Mine has been smooth as butter, not even any grumbling after a cold start. 👍
