Is the new 2025 and up Ranger 2.3L engine dual injections?

I can’t seem to confirm this, there’s a lot of smoke around this issue.

Yes and it also received a duel scroll turbo and probably a couple of other new engine components with its 2025 revisions.

And this is why I bought my STX with the I4 over the 2.7 V6 . These new updates / upgrades with the improved transmission should definitely generate sales once people test drive the Newer Rangers .

How come Ford never announced it?
I’m about to pull the trigger on a 2025-2026 XLT FX4 with a 2.3L but just want to make sure that it’s legit… thank you

I believe if they did an official announcement such as a Ranger commercial. Doing so would have a heavy impact on the XL F150 and the Maverick sales . This New Range definitely hits the bench marks for getting a 4 star rating in the mid size truck class. And would be 5 stars if they improved the interior colors , so black is not the dominant option .

The new engine makes the truck feel quite quite smooth. The engine pulls firmly, albeit in almost constant but shorter bursts when its switching between 10 gears.

We are quite used to the old 6 speed or less gears, to the "pull, pause, pull, pause, pull" and felt like more powerful while in fact, it was interrupting power, while in this NEW MPC engine/trans combo feels like a push, with few very minor hesitations, and actually pulling more constant than before, maybe too smooth sometimes.
I still miss the jolt between the 5 gears of the 2nd Gen Taco I had, like much rougher intermittence, but this new Ranger moves with much more authority and less fuss.

The new Tacoma "feels" more powerful, but because it pushes with much more difference between in-gear/when switching gears. The new 2.3 have been tested actually faster than Tacoma and the Colorado, and feels less dramatic and smoother overall.

I also think that smoother gearchanges make it more confortable for the user, and puts less strain on the gearbox internals. Maybe thats why the picked a 10 speed instead a 8 speed one.

I test drove it twice and it’s quit smooth as you mention. I’m coming from 2nd-3rd Gen Taco.

Love this engine. Unless you’re towing regularly, it’s all the engine you could reasonably need. I’d give the engine 10/10 for its intended purpose. I’d give the transmission 7/10 at the moment. It hunts a little more than I’d like, and I occasionally get a hard downshift when it gets confused upon slowing down.

How many miles on your truck? I'm at 2700 miles, the trans has really smoothed out.

I’m thinking of going with Amsoil oil , transmission fluid at a 25,000 change . Word is it‘s very good shit .

Can you help me understand how it's raised 1/2"?
Mine still in box as I may have to return. Anyway the rails have a what I'll call lip that rides on the bed cap. So if the cap was say 1" high or 3" hight wouldn't the tonneau cover still fit flush?

I don’t think my Ranger 2.3l mpc really hit its stride until after 5k.

and I don’t think a short test drive can really show what the truck can do,

i agree occasionally there is a little bit of clunk on a downshift but it is only noticable because the transmission is so smooth most of the time.

and I agree the transmission does behave better adjusting to my driving habits or possibly the other way around,

I have become somewhat addicted to the sport mode in stop and go or really windy conditions as it downshifts earlier and has better engine braking. And it also great going down grades

unfortunately the tacos have had some transmission teething issues in this generation, hopefully that has been sorted out

i drove a rented brand new 4 runner previous gen and was not impressed with that vehicle, even with the v6.

i would love to see a dyno test comparing the 24 and 25 2.3l engines. They are specced the same but I wonder if the 25 might be making a bit more torque at lower rpm

On my short test drive on the 24 2.3l Ranger I thought that engine was pretty good solid.

Also there were a lot of 24's on lots and they would be forced to offer larger discounts on those.

I never drove an older 2.3, but I'm very happy with the performance of the MPC.
