nope. it's just a thing. It has no real value other than what you give it.

The trouble with being an old car guy is there are so many to miss:

66 LeMans Convertible
1971 Corvette
5.0 Mustang Convertible
Rx-7 Convertible
BMW Convertible
VW Phaeton
Infiniti M56x
Mercedes CLS550 Fourmatic

Those were all fun in their own way. I miss the twin turbo V8 with AWD and the most well engineered Hold feature, but wouldn’t give up the Ranger Raptor to go back to any of them.

Yes! This was my 1st brand new car. Bought it when I was 19 years old in 1988. A foxbody 88 LX 5.0 Notchback. Wish I still had it but I didn’t know what I had back then….I mean I did, but I didn’t.

Notchback beauty! I lost my ā€˜91 Notch in 2015 (typical divorce BS) it had to go once finances started getting strained. Had it since the mid 2K’s. Single owner older couples car with just over 50K miles and here in the PNW they don’t salt so she was CLEAN!
Silver & a manual with perfect like new 5 star pony wheels - zero curb rash. I re-did the charcoal & black interior, all new seals & exterior trim, intake & throttle body off the 5.0L Explorer (similar to GT-40 setup), welded in sub-frame connectors, front suspension was reworked & tighter than new……missing it as I’m typing this!

Damn divorce! Oh well 10K% better off today so I’ll take the loss.

I believe I've had 18, usually one at a time, since I was 17. The one I miss, 2019 GT350:

2000 Nogaro Blue B5 S4 (with the matching blue alcantara interior) that I owned from age 18-23. I miss it dearly but the cost of constant repairs was too much to handle for a kid in college. Had multiple people approach me in public telling me it was their dream car. Purchased it from my dentist in 2009 for $7500 with 75k miles. Sold it in 2014 for $13,500 with 120k miles (after it had cost another $7500 in various repairs. Clutch, timing belt, brakes)

So much fun to drive.

I told the guy I sold it to that if he sold it in a few years to please contact me because I would maybe be in a better place to afford it and I'd buy it back. I never heard from him.

I was very hesitant to check the carfax for years after I sold it. I finally paid for a report last year, which was a decade after I sold it. Not even 2 full years after I had sold it, it had changed owners twice and had been totaled on a missouri highway. Yeah I'm still bitter.

it would be to expensive and not near as much fun to get my cars i wish i had never sold, back. the parts to build them back to how i had them might not even be available anymore.

1971 vw karmann ghia with a 914 transmission (mine was custom paint, blue in back and yellow in front)
Ford Ranger Anyone ever think about their old cars? 1773931779888-di

1965 mustang with a 68 hertz weekend racer 302 and 3 speed standard trans (mine looked just like this, just not those wheels)
Ford Ranger Anyone ever think about their old cars? 1773931857614-xx

1989 bmw 325i with e30 m3 interior swap, tons of little engine mods, coil overs and koni struts and shocks. euro swap on the gages cluster, overhead panel, and hvac panel, ps/ac delete, and straight pipes. this little picture is my actual 1989 325i that i am talking about it. it was a great autocross car and won its class 2 years in a row. the car behind it in the pic is an 84 bmw 318i that is also lowered and has lots of little suspension things done. it was another fun car.

1981 bmw 320i with conversion to a weber carb, debaged and marker lights deleted, lowered with full frame stiffners and sway bar upgrades. (mine looked like this, except lowered and debadged, etc)

1987 jeep wrangler with 302 and c6 swap on old man emu lift springs. this pic is before the engine/trans swap

especially the karmann ghia though. i really wish i still had that one. custom paint, wheels, 1600 dual port engine with the 007 distributor and pic3 carb. it would do 100mph all day long

As a matter of fact I was doing just today.

I had my first new car a 1986 Mote Carlo SS ā€˜s windows to tinted 40 years ago at the same tint shop that I still use today back in my home town.

I finally go around to getting my Challenger’s windows tinted today.
ā€˜Got to thinking back and realized it was 40 years ago, that I had them tint my first new car also a black v8 coupe.

I had 14 black vehicles in a row. Keeping 3 black vehicles clean was getting to be too much for my old arse so my last 4 trucks have not been black. I still have NASSTY and my old rusty plow truck is black but I don't even wash that anymore.

Yea, Black was always a lot of work. I pretty much changed over to mostly all white vehicles a couple decades ago, but just in recent years do now have a couple black vehicles again, neither are daily drivers, so it’s not as big deal now.

Always loved all the old G body GM cars.
I had that Monte SS , later had. an olds 442, also had a v8 Regal at one point.
The olds 442 was probably my favorite of 3 G bodies.

Those formula firebirds were so fast. My dad had an 89 5 speed formula. His was the 305 and it would fly on the highway

I'll never go black car again lol. I learned that lesson for a few things. I painted my office black, damn it looked good. But, everything, anything painted black will look dirty in 12 hours.

Yea my Dad had a 928 , my Formula 350 was faster, least wise getting to its top speed of 140.
ā€˜The 928 had a little bit more on its top end.

It was a lot faster than my Monte SS too. Later my Dad bought a new ZR1 and that Corvette was fast for its day. Pretty sure my Challenger would mop the floor with any of those old cars we had back then, but those really were some good times days, I sure had a lot fun with those cars .
