Anyone know when the trailer module update will be applied over the air updates? I just got that update today.
One person here claims they got the update over the air

When I took my truck into the dealer I was told if the update doesn't take they'll have to replace the module and it will add an hour while it's being replaced.

My module took the trailer update.

I'm guessing the reason why Ford told us to have it done at the dealer is due to some module not taking the update.

You may want to call your dealer and ask about the trailer update coming over the air.

What ford says is if you are towing and can’t wait for OTA, or the OTA doesn’t take, the dealer is authorized.

I don’t recall ford ever saying you have to go to a dealer.

I got it OTA - my truck connects to my wifi at home. I've noticed a change in the icons at the top of the screen related to CarPlay. This morning, I had an icon that showed multiple phones at the top where the CarPlay icon used to sit. Presumably that's because my wife's phone was in range for connection as well, but it still showed after my phone was connected. When my phone was connected, it kept that multiple phone icon, while adding the CarPlay icon to the right of it. So it was one more icon in that bar at the top. I think I also noticed that there's now a Sirius XM logo where it shows AM/FM/SiriusXM. That looked a little different than I remembered.

Have you received updates in the past?

I got this update on Friday, but still haven't gotten the 26C10 update. My wife's F 150 got the 26C10 update back in March, well over a month ago. Probably 'cause she got the expensive truck so Ford likes her better. :crying:

Talked with Ford Customer Service today, they said the 26C10 update is being pushed out in stages and it "should be pushed out to all Rangers (and other cheap vehicles :crying:) by the end of May. However, if I need to tow with my vehicle right away then I should contact my local Ford Authorized Service Center and get the update done through them.

My APIM Module was suspected of a malfunction as my CarPlay quit on me completely and totally back in March. My RR has been in the shop since then. I took it out of their possession to roadtrip to Arkansas, but outside that 3 day trip Ford has had my truck for 23 days as of today. They replaced the APIM and still nothing. Now I check on it every day and all I get told is “We’re in direct contact with a Ford engineer and will advise you when it is resolved.”

My initial issue was thought to be related to the vehicle’s inability to update OTA, and that I needed to give it time to get “unstuck” during the OTA process. I took it to the dealership and Ford pushed the update manually and me told to come get it. You can imagine how delighted I was to find the CarPlay function still didn’t work once I got to the dealership. The tech supposedly checked the function with his Android phone to test it… 🙄

I have a XLT Sport loaner, but I’m not allowed to eat, drink, put my dog in it. Nor am I contractually allowed to take it more than 250 miles away or to leave the state in it. This XLT on house-arrest is NOT a comparable loaner as required by the lemon law in my opinion, although I’m not an attorney.

Ford has some serious issues with this computer in my personal experience. I hope they get it together. I love my truck, but it’s not really my truck at this point since I haven’t had the use of it for 23 days I suppose.

Rant over. I feel better now doctor, thank you.

I got two other OTA updates recently but haven’t seen this Sync one yet; checked a few times over the past couple days. ‘24 Lariat.

Hmm, isn't Texas still "Your vehicle may also qualify as a lemon if t has been out of service for a cumulative total of 30 days or more during the first 2 years or 24,000 miles." I'd think they'd be in a bit of a hurry if you are still in that 2 yr / 24000 mi window.

Well, another recall, oh joy. But at least Ford had the decency to push the 26C10 update to my Ranger today as well... So, no more issues with trailers running amok, now I just have to worry about headliners spontaneously erupting into flames, whilst my seats are ejecting...

Yes. I had already picked out an attorney in fact, but ironically Ford called on day 25 and it is finally fixed! I’m just glad to have it back.
