I had the Amazon locking one, it fit but to get a larger gas pump nozzle to fit was super tight and on second fill-up the locking cap base pulled out with pump nozzle, lucky I was in the return window, I think it's just taller than it needs to be causing the clearance issues with nozzles

I printed this one but slightly scaled down to fit the ford neck instead of Chevy's.

Took some trial and error, but the fit is where I want it now. I'll probably reprint it with a strap at some point (or give Purdy's a try if he shares the files).

The scale I settled on was 70% in Z, and 88.94% in X/Y for a ID of ~58.7mm in TPU. I did my initial test prints in PLA and settled on 58.9mm when I had it, but that was too loose when I switched to TPU. Not sure I'd recommend using a rigid filament on this permanently as it seems to need a little stretch to fit well.

I'll try to post a photo of mine which was a repurposed spray dried instant coffee jar black plastic screw top lid that was a close fit, lined it around inner circumference with foam pad strapping from bike helmet and it fits nicely...up-cycle solution

Did you push it down until it clicked on? I don't think I could remove mine if I wanted to, probably have to break the prongs inside.....weird.

Oh certainly, I didn't think it was coming off easy at all and I was very careful to align when installing, was very surprised on maybe second or possibly third fill-up on removing the pump nozzle it just fell right off. My guess is that the pump nozzle pried it enough to lose the connection with some number of the plastic mini "fingers" that hold it on and it instantly fell off. If removing it or to experiment just insert a wood dowel of appropriate diameter and pry gently and I think you'll find it pops right off from the flex

I was willing to keep it even though getting any pump that I used into it had noticable clearance issues, but when it popped off I had to return it. I was definitely careful removing pump each time as well and if I remember I did pre-tension the mini fingers for maximum engagement before installing. I don't understand why it needed to be as tall as it is, if it was short as possible it would maximize clearance and reduce any shear forces from pump nozzles passing thru it. Depending on the 3 I tried all were tight and at least one was very tight

Good to see my old model is still getting use :like:

These caps really do need to be printed in TPU to fit well. Plus TPU holds up to gas. I had that cap on my Canyon for almost 2 years and it held up great

I would be interested in one in a different color than GREEN, which is the standard for diesel fuel! …. Not that a diesel nozzle will fit into a gasoline neck, but why make things confusing?

John, I wonder if you can easily strip the anodizing and put whatever color on you wish?

Easy-Off Oven cleaner strips off anodizing. I remember this from the old days when a scratched-up set of Gold anodized Moroso Valve covers and an Air Cleaner were bought for $10, stripped with Easy-Off, and painted Candy Apple Blue to match my car.

High quality and an excellent fit. I do agree anodizing it green is a bit of a strange color choice.

I have been using this one, it worked fine until my wife borrowed the truck and lost it.

Amazon cap

It needs to be a good fit on a 58 mm/ 2.25” neck, most are too large. I would prefer one with a tether or else one in a bright color to make it less likely to get lost. A Maverik cap might work, but I prefer a USA vendor… Any links would be greatly appreciated.
