Pro Cal install cost

I used an ASE mechanic, $80. Had it ready for him to push the button and do the paperwork which he included his ASE number and it was accepted by Ford Performance.

I opened my Ford Performance account on my computer, then took my computer and Procal tool to the dealer. They did the rest through my computer for $190. They would have done it all for the $112 install price online...I should have paid the labor when I bought the tool. Find a Ford dealer that is familiar with the tune for a decent price and have them do it! If there is a problem during installation or down the road I'd rather be able to say "Ford truck, Ford tune and Ford installed= Ford issue". Too much at stake to try to save $112-$200.

My dealer didn't even charge me and gave me an invoice. I did all the work upfront.

I just called the dealer I bought it from They told me $ 850 3 hrs labor I told there service adviser they were nuts . It only take 1/2 hour to install Ok now it's $500 and 2 hrs .
I am going to have the sales men I bought it threw to twist those numbers

I watched a YouTube video Looked easy I registered it loaded the tune to my computer
went out to the truck to load the VIN to the device and It tells me Unsupported and won't load the VIN . Why it's a M-9603-REB30 26 Ranger Raptor

Just a guess, but if you are in California it may be restricting install on a ‘26 since I don’t think it’s approved yet by CARB for that model year.

Some of you are straight up getting robbed and you don't even know...

The warranty requires an ASE mechanic, despite them doing absolutely nothing but pressing the same buttons you would press. $500-800 is insane. 2 hours of labor? 3 hours of labor? Guess you love buying the dealer owner a 3rd boat or mansion.

I figured it out I needed to update it . I did not see were you enter a ASE classification number.
I could input a friend of mine credentials he as a bunch been a GM tech since 1982 if that would work.

Yep. If people bought the ProCal tune direct from Ford, there was an option to add a dealer install, with a cost of $140, or so, just one hour.

I called my local Ford dealer and asked if they can install it.
They told me no problem $ 500 2 hrs labor I told there nuts I will take it elsewhere

Get your own Ford Performance account, do all the actions except the final step which is selecting install. Have an ASE mechanic push that button. I paid $50. Make something in Word that documents the "install"....VIN, ASE signature, etc. My Ford Performance supervisor that is my source of all thing tune said the install takes an hour or less. Not sure how far off that dealer saw you coming.

Why this is so hard to understand considering how many times I and others have explained that you don't want or need the dealer involved. One hour is on the long side, some get it done in 30 minutes. I've even given people a copy of what I created to document the ASE install.

my dealer wanted 37?.00 and could be more if there was problems.. did it myself.. very easy.. youtube videos and read the yellow sheet that comes with the procal did order from tires pro ? was cheaper than for with discounts.. go figure enjoy the tune..

PSA: Self install is easy but voids warranty.

I hate to admit this, but I purchased through Ford.com. Brought it to my local Ford dealer and they charged me 3 hrs! I got taken for a ride from the looks of this thread. ARGHHH!

Why this is so hard to understand considering how many times I and others have explained that you don't want or need the dealer involved. One hour is on the long side, some get it done in 30 minutes. I've even given people a copy of what I created to document the ASE install.

Why is it so hard to understand we don't want someone other than Ford messing with the brains/warranty of a 60K investment?
