How many are waiting for the 2.7 to order a Ranger.
Is waiting for the V6 what is keeping the Ranger orders low. Maybe or maybe not.

There are about 3000 Ford dealers in the United States. If each dealer really is only allocated one Raptor then there's your answer.
From my understanding that would depend on the dealership, yes each dealership will be getting at least one but if they sold a lot of rangers, and sold a lot of other Raptors in the F150 then some dealerships may get more than one

Ford is only allowing one allocation per dealer at the present moment with no information given on future allocations.

I believe there is something to that. Also uncertainty with the strikes. Why order something if you have no idea if/when it will be built.

I had a 2020 Ranger. Nice truck but I don't want another 4 cylinder. When I had it, I always thought the 2.7 would be great in it.

I'm currently driving a 2023 F-150 Rattler. Very nice but it is a large truck and I really don't like driving it much.
I've already asked my local dealer to give me a call when the 2.7L Ranger can be ordered.

I would say the majority of people when buying a normal truck/car, they are going to go down to the dealer and pick one up. They aren't going to pre-order it. People are only generally that excited about specialty vehicles, like the Bronco or Raptors.

How many people do you know pre-ordering the next-gen Honda Accord? Answer: nobody!

I'm sure the new Ranger will sell just fine once they are on the lots where people can kick the tires and test drive them before they buy.

All my vehicles(around 10) have been pre-order other than my first so I guess I not the majority

You definitely are not. The Ranger Raptor is the first vehicle I've ever pre-ordered and hopefully the last. I only did it because I have to. I've absolutely hated and resent the entire process. I'd much rather go down to the dealer as I always have and test drive the car/truck and buy it immediately. It pisses me off that Ford is trying to make it a boutique vehicle by not meeting the actual demand.

You are correct because like Toyota you pick from what the dealer gets in or ask them to find you what you want. Honda has X number of trim levels and each trim has items to match that trim level.
All my Fords since 2003 have been special orders.

So you think there’s 30,000+ Raptors on order?
No clue, but it is undoubtedly higher than the Ranger numbers. There were more people in my high school than there are Ranger orders in the entire country.
The ~3,000 figure is regular Rangers that are unscheduled. It does not include the number of Rangers currently already scheduled.

I'm really not expecting to see my XLT until May or June of 2024!
I’m now saying Memorial Day 2024, one year & one day from original order date of May 26th 2023 for my Raptor.
