Must only apply to certain VIN trucks produced in a certain timeframe. My FP app shows no active alerts. I believe my 2025 XLT is an April truck.
Yes that is strange. My Lariat is a late Feb. truck and I got the recall. Im taking mine in Wed. for the re-flash.

Just bought this gorgeous Ranger 2 weeks ago. Now the brakes are intermittently losing pedal, it goes almost to the floor and you have to stand on the pedal hard to get it to stop. Ford dealership has it and said they are replacing the front pads and shaving the rotors. Seems like this is not going to help as sometimes the pedal is high and it's easy to stop, it is like it is losing pressure. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.
Recall just went out. Check the Ford site

Mine is a 2024 built in January 24. Having the same issue. Brake pedal travels 6" and don't know where it's going to stop the vehicle. Stressful in stop and go traffic as well as braking in turns. Dealer said it's normal. Second dealer also said its all about the way the EBB operates. Not buying any of it.

Thanks Sandi for documenting your experience here. I printed out your messages and the dealer is going to change the booster. He can't promise that it will work but fingers crossed!

Don't know how many miles you have on your Ranger. I assume you have a low mileage vehicle .However as an auto tech / mechanic for 30 plus years I would not be replacing the pads or resurfacing the rotors as my first step according to the symptoms you described.

Been a Tacoma guy for nearly 4 decades, want to get a Ranger, but very discouraging when hearing such bad quality coming from Ford.

Your issue is beyond bubbles in the brake lines, this is a Ford poor quality master cylinder probably made in china…

Sounds like a bad wheel bearing if it moves out of round it will push the piston back a little
Ford replaced both my front wheel bearings at 4 months old

A new 2025 Ranger is high on my list of trucks to consider. When I read threads like this it is discouraging. And a bit scary because it involves the brakes. But even Toyota trucks are having
their share of problems too.

My 2003 Tacoma that I bought new was the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Daily driver for 22 years until I gifted it to my nephew. Very little technology. The good ole days!

My Landlord has a 2001 Ranger and never had issues and it’s past 300k miles! we have to face the facts that the good ol’ days are gone

It was finally recognized as a recall. Software update fixed the problem. 2nd recall was for side air bag issue, now a 3rd recall is in the works also software for trailer control. Not acceptable for a new vehicle! We bought a Ford because it was towable behind a motorhome, otherwise a Toyota would have been in our driveway and once we are done with this truck, it will go away. I drove a 2007 Highlander from new to 248,000 miles with hardly a hiccup and sold it to buy this Ford. Beyond disappointed!

I came from 4 decades of Toyota ownership, and want to switch it up a bit to get a Ranger XLT FX4 I now have doubts…

A simple reflash of the ABS module corrects the problem.
Go spend some time on the Tacoma 4G and the Colorado/Canyon forums. You'll feel much more comfortable about making a potential Ranger purchase.
