Same. I bought my 2026 Ranger as a stopgap until a hybrid Ranger hopefully comes. If a hybrid is offered, I’ll give it a couple years to work out the bugs and then trade for one.
Lol, after all of the growing pains with the Powerboost, I'm hoping Ford will have most of the bugs worked out if, or when, they ever decide to do a Ranger true hybrid.
We know a Bronco hybrid with Pro Power Onboard is coming (direct from Farley). I’ll be watching that closely because the Bronco and Ranger are on the same platform and go down the assembly line side by side.
If it was a real F series V8 Bronco, I'd be interested, after you've driven as many of the old I6 and V8 Broncos as I've had, the new "Not A Bronco"s just don't cut it. I just don't know, with the lack of apparent 3rd party interest in the Ranger, Ford's apparent lack of interest in upping Ranger production to meet demand, and a new hybridized Lightning EV and the new Ford Ranchero (and yes they trademarked the name in August) "Universal EV Production System" mini truck on the immediate horizon, I'm kind of unsure about the Ranger's future. Just got a reply back from Biltstein asking about shocks for our Gen 6s, especially since they're available for the Powerboosts, Broncos and Mavericks. "Unfortunately, Bilstein at this time does not make any products for any of the 6th Generation Ford Rangers. As popular as this chassis is our Engineering, Product Management and Ride Development departments are working as hard as possible to product a high-quality product for the slight changes to this vehicle’s suspension over the Bronco. " That's a pretty non-committal response for a vehicle going into its 4th year, especially since in their own words there are only slight differences between the Ranger and Bronco.
That’s a fairly odd response. Especially considering Bilstein builds suspensions for these trucks overseas.
Yeah, that's exactly what I thought when I got it. 4th year is coming up for Gen 6 and all that's available is a pair of B6 4600s for the rear of XL, XLT, and Lariats, and nothing at all for RRs. AFAIK there's only geometry differences between the Ranger and Broncos, that shouldn't take a whole lot of hard work.
