Would like to see some install instructions or even a video on these. Do not look as robust as the Ford OEM J brace kit and seems to be universale for both Raptor and non Raptor model Rangers

I got a feeling this j braces thing might be a total over reaction.

Ford does not seem to overly concerned. Unless you're doing some serious offroading I doubt this would ever be a problem.

88 lbs. of above bed rail weight while off-roading is quite specific... as in an engineer was behind that number at Ford. If they are providing install and part reimbursement with the Ford branded toppers, then I'm sure it is a weak point in this situation otherwise they wouldn't do that.

For sure a possibility. 85% of angers will never See more then a dirt road leading to a cabin.
I don't know if I'll ever install a rack and roof top tent, but I certainly wouldn't be caught in one on a Ranger if I wasn't sure they had the J braces installed. 88lbs is quite a low static weight rating!

Good luck finding any J-brace info in the manual.

I'd be curious what Ford would say if your bed cracked with these instead of the OE braces.

I'm probably not going to take that chance

But Ford says the braces are required in circumstances they lay out. Responding to manufacturer requirements isn't overreacting if the circumstances ARE what Ford has spelled out
