I had a similar experience with a stealership, different brand, they will tell you anything and avoid answering questions.
Yeah, I agree. It seems like since this was a NHTSA recall they would be running afoul of the law in this instance, not to mention the liability issues.

Has anyone else had this issue with the App? I know I can be overly suspicious, and with the way they treated the recall from the outset It only adds to my suspicions. I’d like to hear others experience and opinions about what’s going on here.
Not exactly the same, but similar, I suppose. For the brake booster recall I had an OTA software update that said it addressed the issue and I swear that after seeing that update successfully applied I looked in the app and saw that the only active recall for my truck was this airbag-related one. But when I look now the brake booster recall is again shown as active and incomplete. I'm not sure what to think now about the recall status.

Well I got mine done today. Everything was looking good until I realized the cover in front of the mirror wasn’t put back correctly. Ugh.

Mine was done last week, I can be thankful at least and say so far everything looked like it was done correctly.

Update: Went back to the dealership and they fixed it best they could. Since most of this stuff is made of plastic, it’s hard to get it exactly right. But it looks good enough to be and as long as there is no rattle I don’t care. So overall it went fine.

Very sorry you are experiencing this and I too would be quite upset at what you’ve depicted in those photos. It’s just completely unacceptable.

Of course, mistakes happen sometimes and it sucks to deal with for sure but rest assured this can be fixed to look and function as good as new with OEM parts from their dealership’s parts counter. I bet if they had owned up to it, apologized and promised to make it 100% right by you, you’d have felt a whole lot better about it all. Instead, they ducked out hoping you wouldnt notice right away and only conceded the need for a proper remedy when it becane apparent you would accept no less.

If you’re so inclined, you may have some leverage to push for some additional oil changes (since you have them performed at the dealer) or something from their parts department for the hassle. They should really make this right by you and quickly.
I wouldn't let them near my Ranger; not even to check the air pressure in the tires.

Got mine done last week. Everything looks to be in perfect order with no damage that I could tell. My truck had thrown a few random codes which they investigated and cleared while it was in for recall. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the work.

Had mine done Tuesday, took about 3 hrs but everything went well. Can’t tell they were even in there (I carefully kept an eye on them though the shop window to make sure work was being done) thank you Tower Ford in coos bay Oregon for a fine job.

Anyone have the supposedly new process where they don’t lower the headliners? supposed to take about 45 minutes.

I had my airbag recall work done at Galpin Ford in the San Fernando Valley about ten days ago. It took 2 hours, exactly what was promised. No problems at all. They even paid for my lunch while I waited. Galpin is 60 mikes from where I live, so going back for routine work is not feasible. But I was quite pleased with the sale (August) and follow-up afterward has been fine.

My recall was done today at Lithia Ford in Boise, ID. They did an excellent job and even corrected the loose cover by the rearview mirror.

Took mine in yesterday for warranty work and told then to tackle any recalls while they were at it. When I picked it up they said there was a bold notice from Ford NOT to do the curtain airbag recall. No idea what that was about but mine wasn't done.

lol-It’s probably cause the dealerships inability to follow directions on the recall service bulletin, Ford can’t process the claims and replacement parts unavailable. When my dealer did mine, the A pillar trim was on back order for 30 days. Crazy,

I had mine done last week at Klaben in Kent, OH. I dropped mine off at about 5:40pm Tuesday for a 7:40am Wednesday appointment. I figured the longer they had the truck, the higher my chances for a smooth appointment. Unfortunately, I received a call at about 4:45 Wednesday that they weren't going to finish it same-day. It was finished by late Thursday.

Now, I'm generally very happy with the job they did. They admitted to getting the headliner dirty and they know I refuse their free wash because it's a brush wash. They cleaned the interior (not just the headliner) and hand-washed the vehicle. Again, generally very pleased.

But after having the headliner dropped and the recall performed, my radio reception is noticeably weaker. I have lost certain stations at work (about 25 miles from my house) that I used to get with some small static, and others that were crystal clear now have static. Around home, I've generally noticed intermittent static on nearly all stations. I'll be giving them a call around lunch today, but does anyone have any recommendations or thoughts? Thanks in advance.
