Can the headliner be taken out? I have seen people always drop it for dynamat but not taken out.
Without bending it or taking out the seats? I don't think so.

Well I rolled the dice today and came out better than some? One area scratched(only right at eye level of entering passenger) and I messed up and let the tech pull out of bay and go around the block without me... I drove away from the dealer with what looked like pig shit splashed down from high above in back of bed and bed rail, inner tailgate and fender on drive side. All I can say is don't let any of the techs test drive or diagnose drive anywhere without you in the truck. They won't even warm up the truck before blasting off around the blocks... I didn't complain but it took me about and hour to clean my new truck inside and out after this experience.

Very important family business distracted me from watching very closely as the tech finished in the bay so I had to watch further away as he took off and I just knew I should have specified that I be present for any on road testing

I had mine done on the 28th of October. It went better than expected. I would give them a 9 out of 10 for putting everything back together. No scratches. I did notice stress marks on the passenger side seatbelt pillar. What bothered me about the recall was I was advised by the Service Tech that this recall was not mandatory but voluntary. She said it was a recommendation from the NHTSA. Anyone else hear this?

THEY should’ve come to you and said ‘hey our tech. F’d up and we’re going to make it right and get those interior pieces on order for you’. Maybe kick you a couple free oil changes or something. But THEY should’ve come to you. That tech knew what he did! That person was just going to send it and hope that what….you wouldn’t see it?’ The service advisor didn’t help the cause either.
Morons…..but they didn’t have to look that way. Now they look like swindlers. New dealer if there’s one in close proximity.

Brought my new truck in with 80miles on it and every time a passenger gets in they can see that scarred plastic, but that's how the cookie crumbles i guess, kinda thought like I got away easy after all the stories.. definitely sad and disappointing, I get it that it's just a tool but to have something brand new damaged is rough. Being that the other Dealer sold it to me with an undisclosed scratch I am starting to understand this is common practice

I had mine done last Thurs. Headliner needs to be dropped. The tech was in a rush on mine and a complete idiot. Weatherstripping installed wrong, finger prints on headliner, dirty hands prints on my interior panels, boot print on the painted part of the sill 🤬, the passenger front seat was left tilted forward and the running boards were left full of dirty work boot prints plus my interior was left dirty from when the headliner dropped. I left it there for them to detail and fix the issues after pointing out all the issues to the service manager.....not a good day.

2.5 hours later it was cleaned, detailed and all issues addressed.

I had the recall work done at a small dealership on rural Manitoba (Selkirk) where I had purchased the vehicle. I asked at the counter that I wanted a good tech to do the work and I’m very fussy. The nice gal a couple seats away from my service advisor said I will make sure the tech does a good job, he’s my husband lol. I took before pics to ensure all was in order when the truck was ready post recall.

I know they had to drop the headliner and take off all the pillars leading up to the headliner and honestly the work was done perfectly. It took the tech a full 3.5 hours and maybe because I asked for it to be done well and I did hear horror stories they took the time to ensure. Btw, this was their first repair for this recall at the dealership. The only thing I did when I got home was wash the windows inside especially the front as you could tell along the glass (in the sun) that the plastic tool pry marks were visible on the window where the A pillars were removed and some hand prints. Other than that it was a flawless job. No rattles or whatever on the ride home and I made sure I had driven over a few bumps.

My only recommendation for all is to advise the dealership you want a perfect job and that you have before pictures and will want it back exactly the same as before. No junior techs and you want your best experienced trim tech to do the work. No exceptions. I think for me, that went a long way to ensuring the work was done top notch.

I had mine done today at a small dealership that has a good service reputation. Job was completed perfectly, no greasy fingerprints, no scratches, all the trim fit and no rattles. I was really worried that they would mess up the truck or cause something to make noise.
Just wondering, it was a pretty warm day here and the car set out in the sun for a while before they started working on it. Maybe that is part of the answer as to why some of the plastic parts come apart and go back together without any damage. Maybe the techs should use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm up the plastic before they start.
Got lucky and glad it is done. Now, good times until the next oil change adventure!

I dropped each side to mount my roof racks and it came apart and went back together without issues. They still have to do my airbag recall but they haven't called to do it which has always been the case in the past. They know me well and know doing a bad job isnt the best plan. Ive bought $180k worth of vehicles from them in the last 3 years...

This may be a long post, but I want to fully explain the situation…

I took my 24 RR in for the side curtain airbag recall on October 1st to Grapevine Ford in Texas. The service advisor told me the part would have to be inspected prior to the recall being completed. I showed her my paperwork and explained that was not what the recall stated. We went in circles for a few minutes With her saying it was the dealership’s policy that the parts must be inspected prior to any repair. I left the vehicle with her assurance that she would call me as soon as she learned whether the recall would be approved or not.

As soon as I got home I called the FOMOCO number listed on the recall. They explained that no inspection was needed and that the dealership was mistaken. The Ford representative put me on hold and called the dealership with the details I provided. After a long hold the representative came back and explained they were told to complete the recall without inspection.

The service advisor never called me back. Instead, a few hours later I got a text that said “your vehicle is ready for pick up“. That was it. I called her back and asked “Was the recall completed?” She replied “Your vehicle is ready for pickup.” I said, “I understand that, but that’s not my question. I’m asking if the recall was completed?” She said,”Yes.”

When I picked up my RR there was absolutely zero evidence of the interior having been touched.

Fast forward a few days, and my Ford App still showed the recall to be outstanding saying I needed to contact my dealer and have the recall completed asap. I then contacted the service manager. Over the course of the last few weeks he has repeatedly assured me the recall was completed, even saying he could see where the part was shown being removed from the stock shelf, all the paperwork was complete, etc.

I asked him why the App won’t update. He said he would work on running down the problem. He has been very responsive leaving several messages about the lack of progress. Finally, this week he left a message saying it should be correct now in a program he called their “Oasis“ program. (I have no idea what that is).

I checked my App and it still shows the recall is active and incomplete. The only difference is that now when I click the recall service button it says “We are not able to retrieve recall information for the VIN you have entered“.

I called Aaron, the service manager, again today and he said he has done all he can do. He said he will call me back with a number I can call to try and get the App corrected.

I explained to him my concern about the possibility that the recall may have never been completed to start with. He said that I could take it to any dealer and they would tell me the system will show that the recall was completed, which I don’t doubt, but I’m still suspicious that they just did the paperwork and didn’t perform the actual work?

Has anyone else had this issue with the App? I know I can be overly suspicious, and with the way they treated the recall from the outset It only adds to my suspicions. I’d like to hear others experience and opinions about what’s going on here.

I had a similar experience with a stealership, different brand, they will tell you anything and avoid answering questions.
