I went ahead and ordered the pair on Alibaba back on Jun 22nd for $333 after tariffs and shipping (the parts were only $125 of that...) Unfortunately after waiting a month for them they arrived today with a deep gouge in one of the trim pieces, and in a spot that would be visible after install. I've contacted the seller and they say they're "doing research" and will get back to me. Fingers crossed they're able to correct it. (Admittedly it looks like Alibaba has trade assurances that state if it isn't delivered undamaged I get a refund, but still a fun spot to be in).

Also strangely for this shipping from CN the agent I'm conversing with is sending their texts in Hindi... not sure what that's about. Is making communication fun.

They arrived yesterday.
OK, so sounds like we were in the same batch. Seemed the issue was how they packed them... Mine is just as scratched, but on the face that the mud flaps/wheel well would cover at least. The little cardboard divider they put between the metal and plastic parts is absolutely destroyed in my box.

Semi fortunately I'm still waiting for Ford to send me the bolts to do the install anyway... If the Ali seller doesn't play ball I guess I'll refund the order and buy the official one. Looks like it's only ~$155 per this list. https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/thre...ership-after-delivery.9773/page-2#post-171273

If i get a partial refund I'm good. It's going to be kinda covered by the bumper where my damage is. So, let's see what happens. And they should have wrapped the metal brackets better to protect the plastic.

Alibaba went and auto marked the order as received without issue, so I immediately put in a request for a refund for half of what I paid (which covers shipping and 1/4 of the part value). Told the seller that I'd prefer the replacement part, but since I haven't heard from them I have to file with Alibaba to protect my guarantee from them... Told them I'd happily accept a response saying they were dispatching a replacement instead. They just said "ok". *sigh*

On the plus side the ali system says the seller has 3 days to respond or they will auto accept it... so I think that forces some action at least. We'll see!

The seller let me know apparently they aren't able to send a replacement of the single damaged part... They offered to give a partial refund instead. I've requested they stick with the $155 price to be able to order the official part from Ford... https://www.varsityfordparts.com/oem-parts/ford-step-assembly-n1wz2620013k

Technically this is almost justified as refunding the $80 shipping fee, plus 1/4of the remaining amount. That comes out to $143.25 for me. Hoping they're willing to do it.

The seller is officially an idiot... They said they can't tell that the part I linked is the same part and refuse to pay $155 as refund. I even sent them this picture...

They want to pay $31 instead as that is 1/4 of the item price... I asked why I should pay for shipping and import fees for a part that arrives damaged?

I told them to never mind and changed the refund request to the full value and they told me I'd be responsible for return shipping. I let them know that in fact no I would not because the product was damaged due to their insufficient packaging, and said goodbye... I'll be handing the case over to Alibaba to mediate...

At this point I can't say I recommend Alibaba as a source unless you're willing to roll the dice on shipping damage. Admittedly at $800 cheaper maybe it's still worth it...

They finally agreed to $45. I'm going to hit it with a heat gun and call it a day since the bumper will hide mine for the most part.

Have either of you installed them yet? How’s the fit?

Wondering if they would work on an STX ?

I'm going to attempt to install them on my raptor when I get it and I know I'll have to modify the dual exhaust to get them to work. So, I won't know till later this year.

they work on your stx. you just have to replace hte parts associated with the step, the mounting brackets and stuff like that. otherwise, you are good to go

That’s what I was thinking. It’s odd that Ford doesn’t have the step as an option for the STX. I’m pretty sure in Australia the XL has the option. I don’t have the truck yet and keep going back and forth between models. I’m extremely indecisive it turns out.
