Saw a guy on facebook wanting 700 dollars and to send the whole headlight assemblies in, OR you can do it yourself, doesnt look to hard, from what i can tell without taking my headlight off it sits behind that heat sink, the pic is from a XLT light with DRLs, that heatsink is on both the larait and the XLT, so my guess it cools the led driver board

I reached out to seller for module docking installation docs, see if I can get them and ill post em' here if I hear back, but from what the facebook post said the headlight stays sealed (could be a lie) but if thats the case these might be viable

I don’t understand how this would be possible since I believe the rangers DRL strips are white leds. I don’t know how a module is going to change their color.

The video from Aliexpress when they pan around the truck the drls produce like almost zero light.

These are the diode, the drl is like fiber optic tube sorta , but it is kind of dim, wonder if you can crank it up with forscan like the factory ones

You know what, this dude might be using different amber boards and made some sort of cross wire harness to plug in to factory power. the chip he is using probably is for some other vehicle

While tempted, I'd prefer to see a working standard aftermarket module first before diving straight into an AliExpress knockoff module in our extremely expensive headlights. I get they would probably be the same source, but still. Seems like an incredibly less populated PCB.

I'll be following in case someone gets them and has some long term success.

I already hit up Diode Dynamics to make one, Been buying their stuff since 2016 when they first stared. they design their own PCBs and this should be pretty simple for them, hopefully they take it and run with it

or id you are crafty with a solder iron, you can melt off the existing diodes and put on some amber ones, that honestly might be the optimal solution for real plug and play lol

Hoping there will be other options eventually , definitely not a fan of having to send in my lights on my daily driver.
I even reached out to the guy on FB to see if I could buy the parts since Ive been in the automotive electronics business for over 20 years and very capable of handling what ever it is they are doing to them….. of course they wouldn’t sell me the parts which makes sense since they are making their money all on labor probably

yea dude, these boards are cheap and the harness is cheap and i wouldnt pay 700 dollars, for that i can just keep them stock. I talked to Diode Dynamics and they are sending the add to their development dept, also told them about the grill lights and asked them to make some that fit and are bright, they actually seemed pretty excited about it. Told them they would sell out the first batch instantly so hope they come thru. They design their own PCBs and already have it for the f150 raptors so I'm guessing it is coming.
