My KO2's are nearing their EOL and I would like to go as big as possible on stock rims without rubbing and without lifting. Spacers are possible.

- Is 295/70R17 the max or rather 305/70R17?
- What's a good offroad tire that does well on wet roads? I really liked General Grabbers in the past but it seems like they don't come in 305.
- Does anything need to be recalibrated after fitting bigger tires?

Thanks!

i don't know the answer to any of that but i know you can go into forscan and adjust the tire diameter setting so your speedo and odometer read properly.

Go on line and find a tire comparison site. The difference at 70mph <1mph, is not worth the effort in my opinion.

Oh so that's the only reason to do that? Yeah the dealer can do it with my next oil change then.

Anyone who can recommend an offroad tire in 305/70R17 that'll fit and is decent on wet roads?

I just looked on TireRack real quick.....the issue I have with 305/70/17 is they are all load range E (10 ply) except the KO3's in that size are Load Range F (12 ply).
Load Range E would be good for someone that does rock crawling and serious off roading. When I replaced my tires I was trying to avoid Load Range E because I like a nice cushy ride.

I've never looked into load ranges. I don't really get what you're saying. E is good foor serious off roading (so more soft, more flex?) But F gives a more cushy ride?

Load range C is the what most vehicles come with that aren't heavy duty trucks, etc. E and F have more ply (thicker sidewalls). They're a harsher ride but more durable for off roading and can carry more weight.

Since C have thinner sidewalls they are lighter (better MPG) and don't transfer harsh bumps as much.

And E tires weigh a bunch so your gas mileage will go down too

Aha ok, so it's C that i want. I'll check my local options

EDIT: It looks like we have a different system in the EU. Left is the number on the tires and right is kgs per tire.

Over here, government agencies use Ranger Raptor Diesel with Toyo M/T 35x12.5-17 on OEM wheels.
Spacers on front, also front inner fenders heated / bent somehow, zero rubbing.

I went 315/70/17 AT3 grabbers, with stock rims and no spacers they don't rub anywhere (I did have 35mm spacers installed but took them off). Also my speedo is now spot on, as it read under stock, so no need to change anything in forscan

I don't want to do any trimming or bending, but thanks for your reply.

Are you 100% positive they don't rub anywhere? This post states otherwise:

Yeah no rubbing. They did with the spacers so I removed them. Also Grabbers don't seem to like wheel spacers and it rides alot smoother without. I do have my front mud flaps removed and did trim a little bit inside which I am annoyed with myself about as I didn't have to do that.

In that thread where they are mud tyres it could be they have more sidewall. I'll have to dig out some pictures

Here you go. As you can see the spacer makes it so close that it would touch on an uneven surface. Then I removed the spacers (after trimming 🥲) and it has loads of room
