Maybe this has been posted before. I just saw this in Road & Track. The RR didn't get a mention. The Maverik & 150 Raptor did.

That's sad and funny at the same time. But this one sentence about the taco tells me all I need to know about their opinions: "Rugged good looks both inside and out prove that the Toyota Tacoma can hold its own compared to its rivals." Ok, Road & Track, whatever. Even if I agreed that the transformer taco had rugged good looks, I strongly disagree that looks tell me all I need to know about a truck.

that’s funny and I agree the taco styling looks like a transformer.

i also think it looks better in pictures and not so great in person.

Regardless, it is a criminally underappreciated truck.

They included the Hyundai Santa Cruz which was discontinued. So they are recommending a vehicle that is no longer in production?? Maybe they should have picked the Nissan Titan for a full size pickup. Most of these awards go to the company that buys the most ads on their website and magazine.

I've not found R&T to be the best source of reviews. Generally, I find C&D to fall the closest to what most people tend to think. MT is kinda in between, sometimes they do a good job, but other times they come to conclusions that baffle me. C&D in my opinion is the most consistent and to the point.

I agree, and find it slightly odd because they're essentially sister publications under the same umbrella. Also, no one comments on R&T articles, so it's less fun to dive into.
