I posted this once before but looks like the thread got deleted when the website was down.
Wanted to show off what Ive done so far cause seeing pics was crucial when making decisions on what to order.
I work in sales and my territory is From LA to Cambria. This means I cover a lot of ground and pretty much all of it is coastal. I got the truck in December and already have 28k miles on it. I don't do a lot of serious off-roading. Occasional trips the desert or Baja to surf. The only things I haul are surfboards and motorcycles. Gas prices are insane here so I went with a 2wd XLT with the 2.3L.
I originally had no intention of lifting the truck but I just can't leave anything alone.
I opted for the Dobinsons 3" IMS kit with Superpro UCA's and sway bar links in the front. Rear is stock. It rides about 1" higher in the front. I went with the comfort spring options cause I have the lighter motor. It rides perfect. A little more stiff but not rigid. Body roll is the same if not improved over stock.
I got the DX4 wheels on an open box deal. 17x8 +10mm offset. Just a tid bit of poke.
Falken At4's 285/70/17. Great tires, very quiet with no rubbing.
Pro Cal Ford performance tune is a must if you lift it. Pedal and shifting felt sluggish until I did this. The truck is seriously fun to drive now. The 2wd version with this tune gets after it!
AFE exhaust. I went with this one cause it seems to be the quietest. It's only slightly louder but just sounds much better. It was the least expensive option as well.
No pics of the system but I got the sub box that fits into the storage area under the rear seat. The Australian one that was much cheaper than the JBL combo. I used a pioneer shallow mount sub with some nice alpine speakers. Sounds great.
I'll put some slim running boards on and possible some fender flares in the future.
Took it to Pismo Beach this weekend. Enjoy the pics!
