Disabling auto start stop.

Deleted member 9086

On the Raptor, it will ask you to push “ok“ to resume sport mode, after starting the truck. Don’t push it, start/stop is enabled.

No, if you’ve set “start/stop” off in sport mode it won’t re-engage, until you’ve forgotten to push “ok“ at startup.

The whole issue is; you have to press something, either “ok” or start/stop off. With the 4D tech unit you don’t have to push anything, it already off.??

I have the 4D unit. On the XLT I think the modes default to normal and you have to re-select SPORT. (I am checking the manual now)

So don’t you have to switch to Sport mode every time you start it? Kinda like switching the auto start stop every time?
Yes. There are a few of us on these threads that drive in sport mode all the time and we are just presenting that option. I would guess in any mode besides normal would disable it as well as sport. To me, with an engine like this, sport mode should be what comes on first when you start your truck. I hate it if I'm on and out of my truck and forget to put it in sport before the reminder goes away. I've thought about the ASS eliminator, but when the truck shuts off because I forgot to put it in sport mode, I'm reminded to put it in sport (fun) mode again, and all is good!

when I go to their site it says "out of stock" when I check amazon with my vehicle noted in my garage it brings up one that is available, on the list it says fits all F150 from 2019 t0 2025, is the device for the Ranger and the F150 the same?
Go to the 4D Tech website and look up the part # for each vehicle. You will then have your answer.

I guess it is harder to disable this than on my previous Bronco Sport. Added a power plug in the back and plugged in a little $3 LED USB light and it turned off Auto Start Stop permanently. Cost me about 4 dollars on Amazon.

I heard if you plug something (?) in the trailer light harness, the truck will think it's pulling a trailer and therefor disabling the ASS.

They seem to re-stock them pretty quickly. I remember mine was OOS when I first looked and got it a couple days later. Send them an email, they were pretty good with communication.

I ordered on 8-8-24, and it was delivered on 8-12. First thing I did to my truck after purchasing it.

One last thing, you can sign up to be notified when they are available. I bought my truck last week of July and they were out of stock. 3 weeks later I installed it.

They burried it in there somewhere. If we had a Ford software guy, he could tell us in 2 secs.

There is a spreadsheet of what has been done on Forescan on this site, (really out of my depth on that) Auto start/stop is in red which I think means it can’t be changed?

You can click the link to be updated when it is back in stock. FWIW, I have been using this exact same model since May or June of last year in my 24 RR with great satisfaction.

Just fork out $100 and get you a 4dtech disable link. 10 minute max install and works great. I have one in the Raptor and my 24 Edge.
